Annoying that Skelton didn't leave My Drogo in any of the novice races.
His attitude towards Cheltenham is fundamentally flawed.
Especially as a trainer with ambition.
He Completely misses the point in that a Sport needs a pinnacle and the owners and public look to that to see who can perform there.
A good winner at Cheltenham can keep a yard in owners for years, and consistent winners puts you in the established arena.
So if you have one with a chance then you should take that chance.
His moaning about the obsession with Cheltenham is like Barnsley FC saying there's too much attention paid to the Premier League.
Not sure why I chose Barnsley, it was going to be Port Vale.

Looks a proper chaser for next season, Brown Advisory (RSA).

What do you think the final field is going to be for this race? There are still loads of horses still involved in the betting but I don’t think there will be many runners.
Appreciate It, Metier, Ballyadam, Soaring Glory, Thedevilscoachman, Blue Lord, Keskonrisk, Gowel Road, For Pleasure. I can’t think of any others? Third Time Lucki and Ganapathi will go for a handicap and I can’t see Dreal Deal making it

Year on year I find the supreme, pre cheltenham to be the most exciting race to plan for. Basically, your trying to get ahead of the market early with a Willie Mullins or Henderson hot pot and thats part of the fun/mystique, its why we have the Melons, Annamix’s and Fly Smarts every year. But we havent had that, this year, its been very disapointing.
Quite typical of the last year actually

Metier update:
Harry Fry’s confidence in Metier’s Cheltenham Festival challenge is growing after an encouraging Wincanton gallop by the unbeaten hurdler.
Metier, formerly trained in Ireland, has had a two-month break since taking his winning sequence to three in the Grade One Tolworth Novices’ Hurdle at Sandown.
Fry also anticipates ground conditions will also be suitable for his stable star in the Sky Bet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, the opening race at the Festival.
“He’s our leading light and he went very well on Thursday,” said the trainer.
“We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, but it was just what I hoped to see.
“The forecast is for unsettled weather in the middle of next week, and that should hopefully help us see a combination of good to soft and soft, and that would be perfect for him.”
