Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

    Yep ... ripe to improve back up in trip next time

    • ….Doyen Quest;

      At the start of the season he looked really well handicapped and he looked a progressive horse. If you would have said to me at that point I would have said he was a short-priced fancy for the Pertemps, but it hasn’t quite worked out that way.

      It looks like he has stayed three miles since he did that day at Cheltenham. I think a drop back in trip will suit him. I think he is most likely to run in the Martin Pipe.

      • Finally stepped out of the shadows to join the forum properly so apologies if this horse has been previously mentioned, but No Ordinary Joe @ 20/1 (not NRNB) must be the EW poke of the meeting surely?

        Two pounds lower than last year when Henderson was in the doldrums and a pound lower when second two years ago.

        I really fancied him last year before the yard fell apart, so to come 7th was quite a result all in all. One of the better Henderson runs, was he just so well in that he got close regardless? Is he still well in now, very lightly raced for a 9 year old.

        Unless ive missed some comments about a different race, think its got to be 1 point @ 12/1 NRNB and 1 point @ 20/1 N(ot)NRNB.

        • Welcome to the forum. I will absolutely not hold it against you that the first horse you mention is a Getaway. I’m almost certainly too late but if not have you considered doubling your stake and playing him in the place markets on Betfair on the day as I’m not sure how much he finds off the bridle. I do think he has a very strong place chance though. Just my personal view of the horse. Maybe consider this option ‘as well as’ perhaps?

            • No harm in getting involved again if the price is right! A lot of time between now and then, can’t imagine he will be much of a talking horse in the previews so could end up becoming a bit forgotten.

              • Something of a forgotten horse or even not though of at all 1 for this looks to be the Gavin Cromwell trained Tonaghneave Well.
                Its only entry is for this race, on bits and pieces of form he looks pretty well in. It's had a good break and seems ground versatile, maybe preferring decent ground. Still get 25s or upwards in places. Who knows if it gets in/declared but with NRMB.

                  • ….Elliott;

                    Minella Sixo, Sporting Glory, Staffordshire Knot, Timmy Tuesday and possibly Mordor could run here. Wodhooh is the pick of ours. This has been the plan all year and her form has worked out very well.

                    The second, third and fourth from her last start at Cheltenham have all won listed or graded races since then. It wasn’t ideal to miss time with her due to a setback - she nearly missed a year - but hopefully she should definitely come forward for the run.

                    We said we’d go straight here after her last start at Cheltenham. She’s in great form. Off a mark of 141, she’s still unexposed. She could be well-handicapped and has won at the track, which is massive. Danny Gilligan will ride her.

                      I suspected this but couldn't confirm it

                      The fact that Danny Gilligan can ride in this is a huge positive for Woodooh

                      Greatly improved her chance imo

                        Some of them triple figures on the exchanges

                        Obvious his best chance but nice to have the others backed just in case they popped up, for a small relative punt

                          I have no evidence to back this up, it's pure vibes, but I really don't like it when Elliot turns up mob handed in a handicap. He's an incredible target trainer, but if he has more than 2 it feels more like he's throwing spaghetti at the wall to see if it's cooked

                            He usually goes heavy in the Pipe, I believe.

                            I did have a look at this a few weeks back.

                            He had 7 in it last season and won it.

                              I know you have admitted yourself you have no evidence to back it up, and just vibes, if you had said it under any other race I might not have responded... but with this race he has history of wanting to win it and go mob handed, and has done so even last yesr obviosuly winning it too.

                                It's not so much the mob handed thing I'm suspicious with, it's the fact he's basically saying 'back Wodhooh'. I've seen him interviewed on RTE enough times to know he gives fuck all away when he's got one of his well handicapped. Not that she's much of a price now anyway but he's put me off her with his positivity
