Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I do like his mark ... 145 seems very fair. Good form in behind Ciel de Neige (no idea if that's the right spelling).

Hammered by the British handicapper though. 8 pounds higher than his Irish mark, which is the highest for the chasers I think.

      • Really hope State Man goes here as I couldn’t have him up in trip and with such little experience. Bred for 2 miles and only completed once this season. Will make everything else value

You've posted in the Martin Pipe thread, I take it you mean the County? And if you do, I agree. I think he could be a serious prospect over 2m.

          • I actually wasn't sure state man's jumping was slick enough for a county and thought this race would suit better

            • See Ben Linfoot on Sporting Life has put up the Bayoffreedom owned Freedom To Dream for this.

Imagine the scenes on here if one of our own had a festival winner!

No I’m saying I hope he turns up here as I can’t have him for this and will make everything else value. Just putting my opinion up since quite a few seem to like him for this.

He’d be interesting in the County but he’s far too short for that now so I’ll be leaving him alone unless he drifts out again on the Friday morning.

Ah, I get you. I hope he doesn't turn up for this

Not without a chance. Has form this season with some of the better Novices and was a good 2nd to Appreciate It as a Bumper. Lightly raced so potentially still unexposed and open to further improvement. Distance, ground and course would suit. Only issue would be would he get in being 58 on the list? Unlikely.

I probably should chip in here. There's a decent chance he could get in because of the multiple entries but if he doesn't we have a Plan B. In any case, 135 is a great rating for him and we would feel confident of a good run. He had a slight issue (now corrected) in his last race and had a bad blood count at Christmas despite finishing 2nd.
Not sure how we are generally 50/1 and Grand Jury 14/1 for this race when we beat him by 15 lengths and are 6 pounds better off - I will leave you all to figure that one out!

I presume the plan b is the Bartlett? I was hoping that would have been plan a

Or a handicap at Aintree/Fairyhouse/Punchestown? Got to take advantage of that mark haven’t you?

                            • Sounds like Stateman may come here. Patrick, on Sporting Life podcast, talking about how important it is to have a good conditional on board and that Richie Egan has ridden him before which is an advantage.

You'd think Paul would have the biggest say though on which way the handicappers would go. If he thinks State Man would give him the best chance in the County, he'd be pushing for that, especially as Mullins has a couple for the Pipe who look like a step up in trip will bring out a bit of improvement.
