Going update this morning is only soft, not even heavy in places, so should be fine on both fronts.

But I think there’s a deadline that’s a matter of a few days after Thursday for handicap performances to be taken into account for the festival (weights next Wednesday) so highly unlikely that this is the plan.

Thanks for the info ToniC. Good news about the state of the ground! I've got 27th February in my calendar as the last date to get qualified for the handicaps at Cheltenham.

No worries ToniC, I think we are confusing each other! HS has had 2 hurdle runs already, 1 in France and 1 at Limerick over Xmas, so he will need to run (and complete I guess) in a hurdles race this week if he is to potentially turn up in a handicap hurdle at Cheltenham.

Good idea to back the Skybet Langer Dan special then a little cover bet on him to be placed as he's just under 2/1 2 places on exchange?

Edit: Iv gone ahead with it, 3 pts on the special at 16s.
Will put 1.5 pts on at 2/1 to be placed.

If I put 4.5pts on him at the best current nrnb price 8/1 it returns 40.5pts

4.5pts doing it this way returns 51pts

So basically getting just over 10/1. But with injury risk. But also maybe he finishes a 30 length 2nd and I win the place bet and he doesn't go up in weight. That's the dream scenario
