That adds to my confidence having your good self on board. I’ll be checking his mark next week but I’m a little worried it won’t be high enough.

Possibly, but there's time for another run if necessary Jackie.

Full quotes from Gordon on Ash Tree Meadow:

“He's a nice horse, he's a big chaser really and he's a horse for the future.

“Davy said that while it looked like he didn't jump that well he was travelling so well that he didn't let him wing hurdles because he would have made up too much ground.

“He's a grand horse. He likes that nice ground.”

Has Elliott entered au fleuron over here to get a mark does anyone know - looks like extra four furlongs would really suit here

Apologies seen only his third run - eye catching though

Spectre Au Fleuron given 132. Small amount of tax should see him sneak in towards the bottom.

Thinking on Willie's potential entries for this, particularly the Don Poli/GDC route. If El Fabiolo runs averagely at the DRF, do they have time to get another run into him prior to the Fez for his mark? Just noting Willie's comments about him being a chaser in the making makes me think he could be a potential Pipe candidate. Looks like he'd get 2m4f too.

Otherwise, Hawai Game, maybe. He's got 2 runs in the tank already and didn't struggle to see out 2m2f despite pulling the whole way FTO.

El Fabiolo has a run over hurdles in France so his next run (potentially at DRF) will qualify him for handicap hurdles I.e. Martin Pipe

Ah yes. Just seen, thanks. Hadn't looked back to last season. Seeing as State Man has an entry over 2m3f at Naas on Sunday, he could be a potential too ...

Worth noting El Fabiolos relatives with the highest rprs are two milers and he's close to the top of the county hurdle betting (I noticed the other day). I've been thinking along similar lines to you guys for a little while but will be waiting to see how he runs at DRF first. County was my first thought as a race for him, not pipe.

Fair points, Odin. Definitely worth considering. It was Willie's comments after his run at Tramore that made me think Pipe. He didn't say he needed further but the way he described him as a strapping chaser for the future conjured thoughts of a mid-long trip rather than the shorter trip. I'd be interested wherever he ends up; Graded or Handicap.
