I’d want to know what races they’ve been watching to tip him at his current odds!

Agree the TWAR bet at big odds was a good play at the time but for the pipe I’ve not seen anything to suggest he deserves being second fav!

Far too many assumptions by folk because he’s ran in a race wpm has used. So loose it’s not real man imo!

            • Spanish Harlem 131 in Ireland, 8 of the last 10 years 131 wouldn't have got you into this race.
One day the UK handicapper won't tax something fancied and as a result they don't get in...

                I 100% agree. I cant/don't see it.

I came on to say as much, and I have him covered at 16's for the race, but I'm far far from confident about him.

His profile compared to Galopin Des Champs is not even close, IMO.

I don't think Willie has a strong hand at all in the Martin Pipe this season and I think if Ireland are going to win it then it will be Gordon who does so. As to which of Gordon's wins it, right now, is anyone's guess.

                    • Do we not think with the minimum 4 runs for a novice, that less novices will be in it this year and therefore the lowest rating might be lower than the last 10 years average?

                          I agree with you.

Imagine finished ahead of him in a previous race and hadn’t run over the distance so if he improves for the trip, which Gordon clearly thinks he would with the Lawlors entry, then I can’t understand how he’s double the price of Spanish Harlem.

Given Spanish Harlem is more exposed over the trip and doesn’t look all that good imo. He could probably run a place given how WPM seems to have them all peak for Spring.

                          • ….for anybody interested in next year, Spanish Harlem is 40-1 BANC & 33-1 Turners with PP. Suspect a decent showing in the MP will see those odds tumble.
