I like how little he says. “He’s pretty smart actually”.

he had a nice run in the Betfair finishing 3rd and was flashing home.

    • I've backed My Mate Mozzie at a boosted 18/1, now I just hope he doesn't get too much tax on his Irish mark.

      • Think Visionarian is interesting for this at 33s and 40s NRNB. Been waiting on an entry and there it appears today. Previous Killarney form with Wouldn’t You Agree worked v well and 6lbs swing when you couldn’t split them that day is v attractive. Hampered at Fairyhouse next time and whilst the pace of the race set up perfectly from position, never got the best passage through and weakened late. SPs in those races very interesting and something I’ll be noting. Last time just had a nice spin round out the back whilst never coming off the bridle. He did get detached in the rear group and never had a chance of closing but screamed of a prep that day and with this his only entry it could be a lovely set up with these odds based on last time rather than runs prior. The stiff 2m of the County looks absolutely ideal as a test. From a first go through entries, not sure there are loads (State Man aside but he has plenty of options) that look thrown in with this as their target so he’s well overpriced imo. Don’t think he’ll get a huge hike for coming over either given his last run and smaller yard.

Not the only one that likes him looking at the price cuts.

Cromwell on the fiddle with him at the DRF.

Cheers, thought it was a Cromwell yard tour, no wonder I couldn’t find it

Funny, ive had him on my mind for this all year too but I was very disappointed the last day tbh. I know the price suggests he wasn't fancied but id have expected a bit better show than that tbh!
Ill stick with him but im not as confident as I was before that run!

                        • I know and maybe its just me and im not sure what I wanted, but it just didnt inspire any confidence. I was well aware before the off, or as aware as one can be without having inside knowledge, so to speak, that the race wasn't the plan but as I say, just was too bad for me!

Listen, I mind Fahey saying in a stable tour at the start of the season that the County was the plan, so im still on that train!

                          • On Paddypower, echoes in rain is joint fav for this. I cannot be having her. If Willie wanted to win this with echos in rain, he missed the boat last year off a rating of 132-135, she would have definitely been there or there abouts. What will she be this year about 153? For a handicap at cheltenham you have to have near 10 pounds in hand and she is not near a 163 rated horse IMO.

                              • This race is a nightmare to pick out one, I watched Irascible since I thought its mark was fair and to keep a look out based on last seasons form. I'm not sure if the horse is going for this race but I'm guessing it might be. Watching its race today though I'm still not sure whether the horse ran badly or if it just needed the run. It's on a mark of 137 and after today may get dropped 1lbs or 2, I hoped for a better run though since I had it in mind for this.
