Feels like they've just about got away with it, 146 is definitely workable especially if they jock a decent claimer up.

With his Punchestown run taking place on Sunday (Darasso +5), do we know if BHA handicapper has taken that into account or is there a chance that 146 could be raised?

Assessing backwards, surely that would make him 142 ish in Ireland? Which would be very lenient on his form so far...

The 146 is surely his mark prior to his run Sunday which hasn't been taken into account yet so could change.

Just checked with someone and they said it includes this weekends run otherwise he wouldnt have been given a mark as that was his 3rd run.

Not sure as the BHA can give you a mark after two 1st 4 finishes if they have enough evidence so don't nesecarily need the 3rd run.

            Escaria Ten all over again...

At least with Saint Felicien we have NRNB to fall back on, unlike with Escaria last year. Say if it was to be raised if Gordon doesn't think he has a chance he won't send him

Saint Felicien was entered at Lingfield on 23/1/22 but was not given a mark so you'd have to assume that this one includes Sunday's run otherwise he'd have been given a mark then?

I'm not sure if it's the plan, as he's not been entered over here at all for a mark, but Slip Of The Tongue would be interesting, and has good form lines with the likes of Saint Felicien, Teahupoo & Quilixios. Currently only rated 133 in Ireland, although that would have been good enough to get in the past 4 runnings of the race, he'll likely encounter some UK tax as well, so it shouldn't be much of an issue getting in, I'd imagine. I've just backed him, anyhow. Ideally will want some cut in the ground, IMO, too.

                    Yeh quiet possibility.

The lack of clarity in this day and age is a bit stupid.

Given they state it doesn't include Sunday run's the ratings published today as a geneal rule but yet this now may and noone knows for sure...

That was nice by State Man if he comes here. Hasn't beaten them too far so handicap mark shouldn't be too high.

Seeing rumours that saint feliciens rating does not take into account Sunday’s run

Delighted to see Top Bandit miss the big 2m hcap at the DRF & hopefully head straight here off that mark of 139 he got when fishing in January. I’m going in again NRNB…just love this horses profile & form for this!

Definitely has the right profile ......... however, Gordon's record in the race ???? He's not the best with 2 milers

Irish record in the race is superb as is novices. Gordon had plenty places in the race over the yrs & won 3 Fred Winters, 3 G1 novice/juvenile hurdles along with 2 bumpers all at 2m out of his tally of 32, not inc those he would have trained last year. He’s the best at plotting one up with UK mark fishing bar none & is happy to sit on one for a big pot target.

In summary, race record does not worry me one bit buddy

Gordon's record .........18 runners....one 2nd, one 3rd and two 4ths. He hasn't plotted well in the past for this race.
