Ruby is unsure where he goes as well.....
I’m not sure if State Man runs here (Martin Pipe) or in the County Hurdle.
County Hurdle...
State Man is a fair horse, but he lacks experience. He should be better than a mark of 141.

All I know is that State Man is all hype and no substance at this point. People are going on as if he’s Gaelic Warrior.
He may well win but using Ganapathi as a guide (still running) is an easy way to the poor house. So is yard hype. You’d have piled Chacun last year based on that.
Saint Roi had at least 2 more runs and hadn’t fall when he pissed up in the county off a lower mark that State Man.

It was referenced in respect of which race State Man may end up running in, not his merits.
And not backing a Mullins (graded horse) off a mark of 141 in a handicap isn't the wisest move either.
Price dependent of course.
And with regards Ganapathi, he probably ended up being held up in a race where you needed to be mid pack to front,Last edited by Quevega; 12 March 2022, 09:05 AM.

And you want to take 5/1 at Cheltenham because Ruby tells you he’s a graded horse?
They also thought El Barra was a weapon and he’s so far only won a maiden & novice hurdle in his career.
He might not find anything off the bridle, it’s very possible.
Of course if this beast was 16/1 I could understand it but he’s not.

Personally I look at previous French form as a soft guide as the entire conditions of racing in France are a world apart from those over here.
