Yeah I got lucky, unless I want to interrupt a few pals weekend then the only two options I have are Unibet and Sportnation...

      • Anyone know when he'll get an Irish mark? could be in the 130's. If that is the case he'd surely go here.

        • I’ve joined the plunge on State Man, 14/1 is well worth risking without NRNB

          • Now 8's NRNB with 365

It's a fair question JM, and whilst I did use breeding as part of my reasoning, I also used the form with regards to Top Bandit as well. The facts are he's been beating low rated animals, not exactly on the snaff either. He looks like he could cruise into contention in a Martin Pipe, rather than being scrubber along over 2m, that said he does stay well for pressure. Slip Of The Tongue on the other hand has form lines with the likes of Saint Felicien, who up until the other week was a potential dark horse for a Champion Hurdle. A big difference, IMO.

Also, on the dams side of things I'd much prefer Slip Of The Tongue over 2m than Top Bandit. However, I think you and others on here may get your wish as I was hoping for a step up in trip for Top Bandit before now, and as that hasn't happened I do think that if he runs at the festival it will now be in this race, although he is one I'm happy to let slip past, and just hope he isn't good enough over the trip, which is my opinion of him.

              • ….GE confirms this as a target for Magic Tricks, as low as 12-1 NRNB with PP, 20-1 NRNB still available with BV.

                • Saint Felicien given a mark of 147 by HRI. Assuming tax of at least 5lbs, we'd be talking 152...

Would assume given his stable tour comments that Top Bandit is his main fancy for the race and Fitzgerald may be booked to take another 5lbs off? Same thinking as with Chemical Energy for connections...

I’d think Davy will be on board Top Bandit as he came over to ride him last time. Yes claimers can take some weight off but you can’t beat having someone like Davy in the saddle at Cheltenham.

                      Good spot Eggs.
I've backed Magic Tricks many times over the last year. Convinced he has a 2 mile handicap in him.
My worry is his mark has been steadily rising, without him getting his head in front.
And he's been involved in some big handicaps, several approx €50K handicaps, plus the Galway Hurdle and recent DRF 2m hurdle.
I see no reason why they wouldn't have been on it for those days.

But he is only 6. So the improvement could come. And his placed runs in big 2 mile handicaps is hard to ignore.
Certainly won't be 20/1 on the day (you'd worry if he were)

                      • Hackers Des Places has a entry for the Morebattle at Kelso beginning of March, We have a dream won the Morebattle in 2019 before finishing 2nd in the County, currently rated 129 decent result in the Kelso race and up a couple of lbs should see him in, I may be looking through rose tinted glasses as I’m in the owners group for this horse but I do feel he could be very well handicapped and have had abit of the 50s NRNB with sky, also available at 66s antepost

….The Shunter won it last year then went on to win The Plate, certainly a race to keep an eye on.

                          HdP 66-1 NRNB 365, 100-1 antepost.

Thanks Eggs I forgot to mention the shunter, HDP never run over fences so think it will be county or coral cup, I’m not 100 percent sure if it’s the case this year but the past few years I believe winning the Morebattle and any Cheltenham race includes a 100k bonus

                            • Probably not gone unnoticed but I wonder if Faivoir back over hurdles is with a view to this.

I quite fancied him for here last year as a novice but they decided against it. Running in the Kingwell today and if he’s tailed off of a mark of 145 it’s not inconceivable that he’s dropped around 5lbs (if UK handicapper is being more generous with horses over here). Not priced up on oddschecker so I’m not sure there would be a decent price beforehand.

                              • So annoyed I got involved with the Sam Thomas horse in this before he crossed the line/last hurdle because Im sure I heard an owner before the race mention county hurdle.
But now its 7/1 for the Coral Cup.!!! Grrr
