  • …..Nusret is one I like for the MP, but I note a little cut with Unibet for this on Dandrew99 spreadsheet so I’ve had to take cover. 40-1 NRNB with 365, as low as 16-1 Coral so it’s a no brainer to get onside.

JOB said he wants to run him and a big field will suit but he’s ground dependent, the better the going the better he is. I know DenmanSacre also likes him for MP.

      • Anyone heard whether Henry is running ascending here? Ran in triumph last year finishing 5th, still a maiden but some decent runs against useful/well regarded horses, at 40/1 not the worst ew poke is it?

        • I mentioned this horse a day or so go and he's now declared with Under Control not entered and Iberico Lord supplemented for the Champion Hurdle.

Impose Toi 16/1 best price but was 20s yesterday

Henderson said the following at the start of the season:

'He is another really nice horse belongs to JP, and he came to us from France after winning two AQPS races. He won two of his races in eye-catching fashion and he has loads of potential. He has the size and scope to jump a fence, but we may keep him to hurdles for the time being. He shows us nothing at home and keeps it for the track but that’s not a bad thing'.

First run this season he carried 11'12 in a class 2 handicap at Cheltenham on the old course over 2m, winning handily. He was rated 121 for this. Jumped well, travelled well, obviously better than 121.

Second run - Ascot in the Betfair Exchange Trophy over 2m. Finished 2nd to Luccia. Drifted from 8/1 to 11/1 with Luccia and Iberico Lord more fancied. Travelled well. Jumped to the left at the last and landed on all 4 to lose momentum but rallied to the line to finish a neck behind Luccia.

Luccia had previously finished 3rd in the Greatwood - look at the future form of that race: https://www.attheraces.com/racecard-...raceid=1393422

Latest run was mid January in the Lanzarote over 2m5. Went off favourite but the trip was a bit too far at this stage. Travelled well, in contention towards the end and finished 3rd, beaten 6 lengths.

This horse travels so much better than a 134 horse, has course form, stays further than 2m1. I think this will be Nicos ride but Hendersons form is possibly a worry for some but I'm not arsed how his shit horses are running.

This year his form ties in with Luccia, Iberico Lord, Nemean Lion, Lookaway, Go Dante, Serious Operator etc. You couldn't ask for his form to be more franked.

Now rated 134 and will be carrying a low weight in this race.

          Trend/profile wise:

          Second season hurdler
          6 years old
          Rated in the 130s
          Ran previously in France
          Course form

Henderson has a poor record in this race but he's a phenomenal trainer of 2m hurdlers.

He's a great 2nd dart at this behind L'Eau Du Sud IMO.

          • Taking out Favour and Fortune was an odd decision imo. As much as they said they were favouring Supreme. Supreme looks wide open I suppose but a 130s rating should surely have pushed them here. Got a couple of recent relative form boosts in handicaps also.

One I shouldn't have played antepost

Skelton's is might obvious now with the Betfair hurdle form though.

I’m a huge fan too. Tweeted Mr Beck about this one a few weeks back as the English form lines in those two mile handicaps interlink a lot and look strong. I don’t believe he wants the step up that attempted in the Lanzarote and this was his sole entry too.

They know he’s better than that
Just need the ground to suit

Makes even less sense to run Tuesday than Friday then...

Wide open Supreme. Only one chance you get to win a Supreme with the horse. If he bombs, they've got a year to campaign him for next year's County. Connections should be applauded for going for the grade 1. More should be like that.

Not when I've taken an antepost position mate

I don’t think anyone knows the ground Tuesday or Friday
Could be worse Friday for all we know
No point in regrets, only get one chance in the Supreme
Plenty of chances for handicaps if not up to it.
They really like him so give him the chance imo

                            • Fils D'Oudairies intrigues me for this race. I've had a couple of William Hills double odds boosts on him @ 80/1.

He's been on the go a fair while now with some short breaks in between, but ran a personal best at Punchestown back in November, when only being beat 8 1/2 lengths by State Man off levels, despite making all of the running, but he kept on really well and still finished 2 lengths ahead of stable mate and general 10-12/1 shot for the County Hurdle, Pied Piper. He's going to be getting 6lbs off Pied Piper in the County, should they both turn up.

It was horrible ground at Leopardstown over the Xmas period and it definitely didn't suit his running style, and he got swallowed up, like so many did over that period. Again, though, it was in a G1, against State Man, so still being fairly highly tried. He's had a break since then, and will come to the festival fresh.

I do think he prefers better ground, although will be fine on soft, just not heavy, IMO.
