Only thing I'd disagree with is the 10/1 for nothing else to run ahead of its mark to not be great value. As an each way bet, I'd say I'd be surprised if 5 run better, therefore it's a shot to nowt?

Sharjah is easily the best horse on what he's done so far, and I'd be confident he's better than anything that'll come out of it! ...... so 10/1 e/w, I don't see the negativity...
Each way maybe, although he's not that consistent really and can miss a hurdle which would probably hurt more in a race like this than in a smaller field grade 1.
His Galway hurdle win would be a positive even if it was 5 years back.
He could run to 160 on the day, he's capable.

But for win purposes, based on your argument, him running to 155 and expecting to win at those odds is not for me, as I'd find it difficult to believe that no other horse would run better than their mark.
Does happen though, as Arctic Fire showed, and Petit Mouchoir gave it a good go also.
Plenty like these don't even place however.
I'd want 16-1 and bigger for Sharjah, and even then I wouldn't back it
It's a handicap though, so they can all win in theory.

Yeah fair enough. Not going to fully commit this far out when I already think I've got the winner (and I know we have a similar hand) .... but I'm more inclined to add Sharjah as a class angle than you..... he wouldn't be my first dart, or 2nd or 3rd. .... but I'm more likely to have a 6th or 7th dart and that's where we're at

      • …Anna Bunina, highlighted by a few on here is heading for this according to John McConnell. He’s putting 5lb claimer Ben Harvey on board.

        50-1 NRNB with 365.

…worth adding he’s putting a 5lb claimer on, Ben Harvey who I think might have rode a winner at Cheltenham.
