Crowdfunder - Fat Jockey Forum upgrade

Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

  • Stay Away Fay beats The Changing Man at Exeter, with Grey Dawning in behind

Beats Giovinco next time out, who finished 3rd in the BANC .... where SAF Pulls up.

Before pulling up, runs creditably as a novice in the Grade 2 Cotswold Chase, beaten 3.5L only

    Then falls off a cliff

Still rated 150, where The Changing Man is 140

I wanted him to be thrown in on old form and he's just not .... went off 2nd fav tour the BANC and now he's 40/1 for the Ultima the next year

    This game is too hard

I'm supposed to looking at day 3 in detail and ended up back at the Ultima.... ffs

Keep getting distracted .... went to find a quote for Jubilee Alpha, then thought about Il Ridoto in the Plate and ended up here, if anyone was wondering

Did you also end up backing Nicholls for top trainer?

Not Ultima related but backed Il Ridoto yesterday, like both Ginny's Destiny & him for Nicholls in that race. Not sure if he'll run both but backed both anyway!

Think Nicholls said Il Ridoto needs Good ground, which he's currently going to get you'd imagine.

Not wanting to derail the Ultima thread with Plate talk but re Il Ridoto, I recall Nicholls saying that he had trouble getting Il Ridoto to retain his form through the season. This is backed up to some extent by his form figures which for the first 3 starts of a campaign are 31P441323516 whereas on his 4th start onwards they are 3836P08P8. That's obviously not a completely fair comparison as Festival races which are generally more competitive come at the back end of the season but something to bear in mind.

Well that's exactly the rabbit hole I went down.... was looking at the Mares Novice Hurdle and though what way could I perhaps get her covered (and his other in that) as a bit of a disaster double ... then remembered I liked Ginny's Destiny in the Plate, then saw Il Ridotto .... THEN I remembered other gaps on Thursday I have are Monmiral in the Stayers that I wasn't that arsed about, then on his stable tour he has Henri in the pertemps and by this point I'm thinking feck me I'm having a disaster super yankee which isn't ideal...... then Stay Away Fay caught my eye, and I'm not 45 minutes later on the same thread, no futher ahead

Very small stakes, GOLIATH and I can move on with my life

SAF caught my eye too, but nicholls pretty much said it was a prep for the national. But you never know so ended up doing the Hail Mary Albert Bartlett 2023 related double backing SAF in the ultima and Thomas Mor in the pertemps. 1393/1 nrnb

              • Not that anyone is talking up Crebilly for this ... but he's 10/1 or thereabouts....

Last year in the Plate he was just a neck ahead of Straw Fan Jack - who is one of the rank outsiders and bottom weight

5x the price of the 4th favourite, and was getting lbs from him last year, gets 11lbs last year, so theoretically he's 4 lbs better off for that neck defeat

They both fall down on the 3m RPR stat but if you were looking at Crebilly, there is no reason not to add the bottom weight at 50/1 (and likely bigger Tuesday)!

Boyle look like they're 6 places, BOG and money back if 2nd to SP fav?

Not used them much if someone can confirm that's 'now'?

                • What the sweet jesus is Frero Banbou doing as rank outsider here?

Beat The Changing Man .... at Newcastle in the Rehersal Chase

Ned claimed 3, so they're meeting off the same again, but they jump the last together and Frero Babbou is the one who wins ....

Tempted by 19/1 (10 places) - that's over double the price of the horse who is joint fav

Granted he's much worse off on the last run, BUT, his best ever RPR is at Cheltenham when placing at the festival (Grand Annual) ..... which was his only run on the old course .... 3rd place

Also 6th in the Plate last year, better off with Crebilly and worse off with Straw Fan Jack
