So going through the card again since my selection SOTG ain't going here I'm slowly starting to think Kauto riko has a chance, but the only thing thats putting me off is the horse is running or meant to be running on the 5th March. If it did win lets say I'm just thinking if it would go up 5lbs for it plus being closed to the festival unless connections are thinking of skipping the festival and aiming for another race?

It's normally for horses that would go to the Irish Grand National which unlike Aintree is at a fixed date each year - Easter Monday, although that moves each year!!!
Bear with me.
This year Easter Monday falls on 18 April, one day shy of 5 weeks. So, it's a slightly longer gap. Plus there are many Irish trainers fancying their chances because of the 'Irish dominance'. Let's see on Wednesday who gets declared at the 5 day stage. Most pundits still seem to be sticking to UK horses, but we'll see.

This looks like the 1st year the Irish have shown any interest in this race. Well we know what happens when they do show interest......
The English handicappers will be running off to Aintree soon. They could have their own sub-standard festival.
