  • I've done exactly that Jim. I've backed him on Saturday so the place part covers the non-no runner no bet stakes for the Ultima.
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

Spectre you acted in good faith sir, that is racing and punting.

      • Trying to keep some faith. Has Nick entered horses in any other races? If he hasn't, there's some hope that he's being a little tease and entering them all last minute

          • …GQ as low as 8-1 now for Saturday, still 15-1 with Lads boost.

                It does make you wonder.

                • On the plus side, if this does go the way it looks like going... we can always have a Naiad no.2 for 2022

                    • Maybe they genuinely believe he doesn't properly act around Cheltenham but would seem a very strange belief. All those runs this season at the course then no entry for the big one (Ultima or Plate).
Would suggest Sat is the target race, he'll have 6 season runs after that and you'd think that might be enough for a young horse.
Unlucky if so Spectre was a great case!

I had this thought process, but then they had a bit of time to get on themselves, what with the bookmakers being NRNB fairly early this season.

Agreed - and still 20-1 A/P with bet365 as they are to a degree in charge of their own destiny.

                            • My thinking is it was Friday at Warwick for an easy race and then onto Cheltenham OR he's ready for Kempton and it's worth more money.
