Has he maybe finished a bit too close to the winner? May get a pound or two. It was a good run and I'd expect improvement at Cheltenham again

    • I actually feel most aggrieved that we will never have the answer to weeks of frenzied debate about whether he could overcome not having his best RPR over 3m or not

Ideal scenario prob finish but further back yeah but get 2lbs I’d imagine, puts him 4lbs above last year with no horse in the race looking as smart as HappyGoLucky appeared.
he looked to have spark back and tried to win which is a positive, obvs the slower the ground the better his chances but when you glance at the entries not many with course form that has you running to back them so looks a logical play at this stage.

        • Be harsh putting up a 12 year old 2lbs for finishing second in a veterans chase would it not?

Some of these veterans get hammered for winning such events, happily Leave him on 143 for me but the horse in 3rd been solid this year and sets a fair standard and the winner being 3lb out the hcap he's going to be given high 120s for that so a lb or two on pure literal which they love to do.

            • What a performance from vintage clouds.. Even if he gets a slight raise that won't stop him, he pissed the race last year, 2nd and 3rd are now rated 157 and 158, +10lbs and +4lbs respectively. Still life in the old boy yet, with the absolute shambles I've made with some races this is one cloud that might just have a silver lining, go on the boy

              • Cloudy Glen 33-1 NRNB for this is a gift for anyone still sulking about Galahad.
Ladbrokes and coral - can be boosted.

front end of the market is full of shitty over rated horses and ones that won't run.

The decision not to enter him is just bizarre. In all my years of antepost punting it's one of the strangest decisions I've seen.

All I can hope is that you accept my sincerest apologies.
Can I just echo the comments expressed by others today. "Dong a Naiad" has been great fun from trying figure out the Naiad horse and getting in early, to listening to the live podcast and the thought of a large number of punters from the forum working together to give the bookies a good roasting.

It's not over to the fat lady sings.

                      Son of Naiad?

                          • What do people think about discordantly's chances in this?
33/1 shot, finished 6th in this last year. Looks like will be running at a lower weight this year. If he was English trained I would be saying that he has a serious chance to win. He has a great ew claims with 5 places and was just passed on the line last year to lose 5th.

Good spot. I can't believe he's still that price. I think a mark of 146 is ok too. His form for a head case is scattered but solid.

                              • Just listened to Bryony Frost talking about Frodon , and that they’ve won off 164 before and that they would run if he was right and the ground was right . 16/1 NRNB good ew value ? Surely won’t be that price on the day if it does turn up .
