Had a look on gaultstats last night and it says this about the ultima:
Winner wasn't unplaced in this years 3m Kempton Chase on Adonis day. Has run in the last 60 days
Does he also need to run his best race in this chase aswell? I know he could probably do with a few more LBS so going close 2nd 3rd or 4th would be ideal surely, that would be his best rpr to date over 3 miles hopefully
I know there is no need to go against GQ (thanks again for that Spectre, awesome work ) but could anyone help me get Cepage priced up with Skybet please?
I’m aware that this race is a closed book on the forum with GQ now…..BUT…
…Is anybody else completely baffled why Richard Bandey is running Saint Palais against Ahoy tomorrow in a 4 runner G2 when he could target this off 145 with a very upwardly mobile profile?? I’d fancy him to run a big race in this but if he bustles AS tomo, surely he’ll go up 5lbs
Big day out for the owners & trainer at the olympics of the sport….he’s not entered in any of the festival novices so no other options…

Winner gets over ?25k tomorrow, which is more than a 2nd place in the Ultima. Only a small number of runners and Ahoy Senor could easily put in a bad one. He is also only a 5 year old so plenty of time in his career for big handicaps. Jockey may also be told to not get too near Ahoy Senor if he is still there with 2 to go and the other two have wilted to preserve the mark.
I would prefer the owners of horses like Saint Palais to be taking in decent novice graded races instead of waiting for a Cheltenham handicap - the good ones only have one year of novice chasing and they can pick up some easy prize money by sticking to the novice graded chases.
I'd be inching toward the Musselburgh race as Pay The Piper and Friend or Foe should have too much pace for him and as a class 2, even a win may not see his mark rise too much.
Jumped brilliantly and dug in. Hopefully only gets a few pounds but I think he may be smashed by the handicapper now.
Take it you also liked him? He would have been a stone or more in off his current mark. Let's hope the handicapper isn't too harsh but could end up high 140s now.

Yep DS, nice round of jumping and got some guts for sure.
Just have to wait and see re the handicapper, bets on already anyway so what will be will be.

He's going to be 144 minimum isn't he - Pay The Piper an admirably consistent sort.
