  • Better performance from Morning Soldier. Been on my radar for this since his 2nd to Nusret but went backwards in his next 2 runs.

Could Sir Allen end up in the Triumph?

Trainer said before today it would all depend on his handicap mark as to what race he goes to

      • "I'm happy the way he came up the hill, he doesn't stop and that's a good trait.
"We've never had a runner in Cheltenham before so we'll see. We'll enjoy today and take it from there.

"The handicapper can't be too hard on us because we were all kind of in a bunch there."

I'd say as long as he doesn't get a massive rise he's going for the boodles from those comments.

          • Looked to me like the jockey had been instructed to do just enough to get the win, looked to have plenty more in the tank. Might be a decent one for this.

              Do love that related double

….read that as the trainer saying he’ll need another run, not sure what that would do for his handicap mark.

Trainers sometimes play silly beggars when they think they have a live one. Different trainer to last year but Brazil won this and the trainer stated afterwards, they had no intention of going to Cheltenham. I cashed my boodles bet out on the back of that and then he obviously went and won

                    • I see Sir Allen got an Irish rating of 127 allocated to him after the weekend, Tekao now with 128. Should translate to low/mid 130s BHA ratings which seems fair IMO

That’s not bad at all, say English mark 130 max. Could put phillip byrnes back on to claim a few also

                              • Jazzy Matty looks to still be on 121, which I'm happy enough with.
