Brazil was off the bridle for a good 4-5 furlongs, if had took it up earlier on Gaelic Warrior I feel like even with the jumping he would have won

Not happy With the ride on Gaelic warrior, PT had to take him to the rail after the bend to try and keep him jumping straight, rail would have also helped him on the run in

Paul rode the race like Mullins has got him to do this year when they think their novice hurdler is the best in the race - from the front. He dictated the pace(maybe the slow pace didn't help as he looks like a big chasing staying type), pushed a number of rivals far out to the right at occasions, had the best run in the race and unfortunately he didn't win. Gutting but that's racing.

I'm sure Gaelic Warrior will be put away now and be ready for a novice hurdle campaign next year.

That 4 year old novice race in naas been around 5(?) years and the winner of that has won this 3 times now on their next start? Some prep

Just seen this.. it was definitly 127 in France when I asked, and that was before the handicap win of the 2nd in the cambaceres, and kyrov winning etc...

I double checked after it, and gave the same answer. he's gone with 129 when he saw him near fav...

They ask the French handicapper and that was before the collateral form of the handicap, and the cambaceres... and still left gave the nark as the same as before it. I double checked his mark prior to putting him up again to make sure that was the case.

Joe chambers has worked it out on 2.2pounds a kilo on his revised mark, that how he has come to his mark.. I'm assuming that they never asked the French again, after i had initially asked, so it didn't get revised.

A good shout ; but shows why you can never be so confident on these French imports.

I'll start off by stating that I'm not a big Paul Townend fan but he was at the mercy of the horse yesterday, the horse having ability but was totally a novice and in future would be better off with a lead, but yesterday tactics were exactly as I would have wanted them to be and only a sh/hd was the difference, a short head the other way and none of us would be debating the tactics.
My banker of the meeting and I suffered a 20% loss on the outcome.

He lacked a run, having been nearly 10 months since an early 3yo campaign in France.

Maybe a spin on the flat could have taken a bit of fizz out of him, as a prep.

Don't recall him moving right like that from watching his three Auteuil race videos.

He looks a big strong sort, flat pedigree, and worth a shot at the Punchestown Grade 1 4yo Hurdle that Jeff Kidder won, after he won the Boodles off 125 last year.

If he didn't win that (or even run in it), he would stay a Novice for next season.

Bdgore yesterday he had a similar RPR to what Klassical Dream had from seven 3yo Hurdle runs in France, without a win, before he WON the Supreme the next season (for WPM) as a 5yo.

Going to put forward Brazil for this race. 25/1 with Bet365, the now standout price, was available at 33's for a short while with Unibet, but they've since clipped him to 25's and now 20's.

If you haven't already, I'd suggest watching the replays of his two runs to date, more so his latest run at Leopardstown, behind a horse in the same colours, Icare Allen. If you think Champion Green is a plot job then this guy has to be in that bracket aswell, IMO. Luckily for him he's managed to go under the radar a little bit more, because he got hampered in both races he has run in, but he showed a fair turn of foot in his last run to make up lost ground, to only get beat 7 3/4 lengths.

Brazil is by Galileo, who likely needs no introduction, but just in case, Galileo has sired 3 festival winners, including 2008 Triumph Hurdle winner, Celestial Halo, so he can produce a fair juvenile. His dam, Dialafara, has produced some very good flat horses, including the high class St. Leger & Irish Derby winner, Capri. Brazil himself was given a flat rating of 85 before switching codes.

His latest performance was improvement from his first run and I'm expecting him to go close next time out, he's entered up on Monday, alongside Champion Green and a few others that look interesting, so will be keeping a close eye on them all.

Before this is taken too seriously, I'd point out that I absolutely saw the case for Gaelic Warrior too (he would have been my biggest winner in the race), and do feel he chucked his chances away jumping markedly right. Do I think Ruby would have won on him? Possibly. However, he clearly wasn't easy to handle at his hurdles, so I wouldn't be so against Paul Townend as others seem to be.

Brazil hasn't been gelded so they may go for a grade 1 at Aintree or Punchestown and he could find a place as a NH sire at stud if he gets the grade 1 in the bag.

It wasnt great, but I'd need to watch his 3 LH runs at Auteuil to see if its a permanent feature of his jumping or maybe not.

Can only say I was devastated trackside for a good while after that. If he doesn’t jump right, he clearly wins easily. The early each way bets copped obviously from around Christmas time but it didn’t feel like a win at all.
