I know plenty will already be on at big 'any race' prices from a certain tipster...
...and a bit bigger when he get entered fishing for the mark....
and I still think 5/1 is fair now. Good even! Almost certainly fav.... been some shorties in this (just went back to check), been a 15/8, 3/1 and a few 7/2s...
Reckon we're in for another real shorty.

    • Think I'm going to back The Tide Turns after Gordon's most recent stable tour. Have to think he'll go well if his form adds up, the question is if his mark will be too high.

Is there any chance that the BHA shaft us by reassessing his rating? It does look very lenient and given the market support already, I wonder if they will take another look at it.

Imagine the scenes if they bump him up 12-14lbs.

Surely in the absence of a run or change to the collateral form, they can’t just suddenly change their mind due to him being smashed in the market and Rich Ricci having a semi?

I can't even imagine a scenario where they re-assess based on market confidence.

Would surely show them up as being incompetent and unable to do their job from the outset?

Punters being the factor for a handicap mark, not for me.

Christ that would probably be one of the most disgraceful decisions in the history of the sport. You can’t randomly reacess because a horse has been backed into favourite. That just can’t happen surely?

I wouldn't put anything past them. It shouldn't happen but bet they have a rule that would allow them to do so.

I'm not saying that I think this will happen btw

I bumped into him coming out of the mens' at Leopardstown two weeks ago, thankfully he didn't

He probably had it before he went in though…..

                      • The Tide Turns given a mark of 135. Think he will be hard to keep out of the frame off that.

Needs another run, and that's his Irish rating. I'd imagine the UK handicapper will be keeping a keen eye on him. He won't be getting in off 135 in the UK, I doubt.

Absolutely. But should be easy enough to find another race for him over the next couple of weeks and keep his mark there. Even with the usual 3/4lb tax I think its decent. Looked to completely give up in the last furlong at Leop having travelled ever so well.

Just noticed he's entered in the Red Mills this weekend...

Yes saw that too. Certainly seems an odd route to the Fred Winter!
