  • The word novice not used in the race title. Fred Winter juvenile handicap hurdle, so assumed it was just the equivalent of the Triumph Hurdle, for 4yos,in handicap form.

      Is this correct?
Can’t be, just ran through a few as knew Nicholls used to have a few who had won over there prior.
Romain De Senam,Divin Bere are two who won March/April like Risk Belle. FanFan Du Seuil for Tom George too.

he’s used Wikipedia for his reference

Yep, all 4yo hurdle races are referred to as juveniles, they are not novices, therefore any French horse that may have won a hurdle race before the end of the last UK season (pre May) does not prevent them from lining up in either of the two festival juvenile races.
In the UK (and Ireland I assume) there are no hurdle races for 3yo before the start of the new season, the confusion comes from the French calendar which has hurdler races for 3yo in March/April...

Hills offer 50-1 for Jazzy, Sir Allen, Metamorpheus & Byker. Almuhit is 150-1.

            ….a few price changes with that Hills offer;

            Jazzy 28-1 (from 50-1)
            Metamorpheus 33-1 (from 50-1)
            Almuhit 80-1 (from 150-1)

It feels like folks are scatter gun backing all of them???? Is it my imagination or has FOMO reached epidemic proportions this year.

….had to look that up; ‘fear of missing out’.

No, I think it’s the recent record of the race (3 out the last 4 winners have won Boodles) & 50-1 on offer. Small stake, cover 2 or 3, get one in the book at a juicy price & see if the trend continues.

Doubt scattergun continues with reduced prices.

If you backed the 4 @50s with 1 point each then thats 4 points to return 51 points. So a little under 12/1 for the winner of tomorrows race. Question is....Will the winner of tomorrows race be less than 12/1? I would predict 6-8/1 - so its a small bit of value, so worth a go IMO

One of two I've backed, the other being Common Practice before he got brought down due to another horse at DRF.

The stat about this Saturday race is fair enough but what about all the other years where the Boodles winner came from somewhere else? Every Tom, Dick and Harry on social media have probably all flagged the stat to their followers, so it's created a mad rush to get on it seems.

Very small considering they are not even nrnb and we are over 4 weeks away still. But hey I get the recent record of the race ...

I think backing a clutch of horses simply because of the recent record of the race epitomises fomo...people hate the idea of not having the winner backed whatever it is.
