So my ante posts for this were Pepper and Sessions - now I am onto the meaty stuff.
Champion green my selection but a bit worried about josephs comments about not being an easy ride.
However I have just backed Doctor Churchill at 45s with a boost. Noticed its come for some money today- was 33s everywhere at the start of the day and alot of 20s.
Was it mentioned on the circuit anywhere (dont think bryan tweeted about it on the dublin preview tonight either) ?? Actually beat champion green - Rob james could ride him also.Comment

Gaelic Warrior has yet to see the track since his move to Ireland but has been all the rage for the Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle on the opening afternoon.
“I’ve never seen him in the flesh or work or run, this whole plot is really down to Joe Chambers (racing manager) who had been following the French form after we bought him and saw what the horses around him did,” Ricci said.
“Some were rated in the 150s and I think one might have been in the 160s.
“We entered him on Trials weekend at Cheltenham to see what mark he would get, I was hoping he would keep his French mark of 139 and the English handicapper gave him 129, much to our delight.
“He’s become a talking horse, but he’s not my first talking horse and probably won’t be my first talking to lose if he does lose.
“Willie wouldn’t tell me what the horse was, but a week ago he said he worked well with a really, really good horse. He was very, very pleased with his work. He thought if he got him to Cheltenham in that shape he’d be hard to beat, so we’ll see.
“I’m excited about it. We’ll give it a go, I can’t believe the price he is.”
He seems rather chirpy about a horse he's never seen

Someone should ask the handicapper how he got that mark ?
I've seen it mentioned several times recently that his French mark is 139. Only recently has this started to get mentioned, Scooby seemed to say they had handicapped him based on his French mark alone !!
The only reason I didn't back him when he got his entry at the Cheltenham meeting early in the season, was because I looked at the form and thought he'd be lucky to get a rating below 140.
So for that reason and the fact it was the boodles and antepost, I ruled out having a bet on him then.
I was right, the handicapper is wrong and everyone who backed him then are lucky mugs.
Be a fun watch though as he should cruise up like he's running loose.Comment

Clearly it was just a slip of the finger and he pressed 2 instead of 3 and was just too embarrassed to admit It. It will haunt him for years to come but he'll be getting plenty of birthday and Xmas presents from punters over those years.Comment

Irish punters will be familiar with this, but this race sounds like one of those days where you turn up to Clonmel, Thurles or even Navan at an innocuous midweek meet, to find that one is fancied, being talked about by everyone at the course, and sure enough does the business in what's supposed to be a competitive handicap, at sub 2-1 or thereabouts.
Wonder if bookies will try and take him on, or will the SP be something like 6/4. Mad stuff.Comment

Jeff Kidder last year just shows what can be lurking in any of these handicaps. Look at A Plus Tard, had basically 2 stone in hand when winning the Novice Handicap.
That’s why I think you can’t be backing this thing at shorter than 4/1 but different strokes etc.Comment

At the time of the race galvin didnt have 2 stone in hand..galvin has improved since then with age, distance etc..but he wasnt running with that much up his sleeve at the time no chanceOriginally posted by KevMc View PostComment
