But yes I would say Gaelic Warrior is just in my opinion an absolute good thing if getting there safe and sound. He's so far well in its borderline ridiculous. It's never a race that takes a huge heap of winning but we're looking at a graded horse here who is going to be the best horse in the race AND the most well-handicapped horse surely of the entire week.
Genuine question but do we actually know his handicap mark? Appreciate the British handicapper normally adds a few lb but there's already been examples of him adding up to 12lb already this season, may be even more that I've missed. Could get stuck with any kind of rise couldn't he?

At what point is he not chucked in?

He’s already been given 129 Benjy so he’s on a lovely mark.

As MOM says on French form he’s absolutely chucked in, but the French form doesn’t always translate would be the only concern. Although some of the noises from connections they must be doing cartwheels with the mark the UK capper has given him.

            • Surely we can only say hes chucked in if hes ran over hurdles and we see a genuine graded horse but hes still rated 129..i cant be as bullish on a horse coming from the flat thats yet to prove jumping ability..im going to back him though!

129 UK mark bud. I’d suggest he’s a stone in hand.

The early season idea apparently was that he was good enough to be there triumph horse but it was only that Vauban was as good on the gallops as he was did they realise that GW could be aimed at the handicap as a thrice raced juvenile.

Yeah I do recall that as I’d backed him for the Triumph with a free bet. As you say Vauban doing what he has done will now make perfect sense for them to make the decisions for each horse.

Suppose having the 3 runs in France and then testing the water with the mark check, they must be gobsmacked how low the UK capper has went if they view him in that regard.

I can’t fathom how they’ve gone with 129. I’d have fancied him strongly off 135 let alone 129!

Interestingly, been given 130 by the BHA handicapper today!

                            Definitely a workable mark...
