They have done the same last season eith the mcneil horse for the KM who would have got in but for all the chat and havily backed... so they adjusted before final... which they're entitled to do
Entitled yes, not very professional though When punters think they've found a good one they can chuck on a few extra lbs. Their job is to rate them correctly in the first place, surely?

I thought the Escaria Ten scandal from last season was to do with the days crossing over, it ran on the Sunday and connections were told 145 from the handicapper on the Monday but then it transpired that the handicapper gave the rating without taking into account the form of the Sunday race, but he got 2lbs for that in the end and went to 147? Didn't realise it had anything to do with the betting.

No worries, thanks for confirming about Gaelic Warrior too, hopefully mark isn't affected too much and he makes it with a serious chance still

        • And the issue here is people are backing without knowing the mark... at bigger prices take a chance...

          at current, absolutely not...

i know what the mark of G.W is from October... so I'll know the difference what it's been re-adjusted too aswell...

What was/is it? Or is that something you'd like to keep private.

            • Iberique Du Seuil entered up at Donny in a handicap so we'll get a mark for him too.

Thats the way it happened, at the time ComplyOrDie

He was given 140 by the GB capper, but it didnt include his run on the Sunday, as the GB capper only rates horses up to the Saturday, for the following Tuesday.

So he got 140, then when they reassessed for the Grade 3 second place on the Sunday he was raised to 147.

Thats the way a GB horse would be assessed, maybe if they come from overseas it could be different.

From memory Scooby had something to do with chasing up the GB capper about the mark, as he mentioned above.

140 was obviously wrong given the Sunday form with Eklat de Rire and Pencilfulloflead.
Off 140 in the Kim Muir he would've been the handicap bet of the Festival.

I remember wearing my finger pads out when I knew he was 140, backing him for the KM, then having to quickly cashout when the news of the weights situation came out.

Some FJ folk lost their Bet365 accounts with those bets/cashouts too, a very bleak day.

More fool the folk who go on Twitter bragging.

Thanks Scooby91 - for that timely reminder, with handicap entries and weights to come in a months time.

Hopefully all FJ members can take heed at that mess, and not go on Twitter for a show off, when they see a well handicapped horse.

Think i remember you saying this last year scooby, found it amazing then and still now. Its a shame it doesn't seem to work the other way round. It would be great to bad mouth a mark back down.

Jesus! That's lovely. Right on the cusp of getting in at the bottom end.

Last nice races the 'highest' lowest rated (is that a thing ) has been 129, so he's right on the cusp.
