  • Can’t help but sit and wonder tonight in the apartment we’re in knowing in a few hours time it’s the start of the festival and we will be there. It’s not secret on here that, combined with him being in a ridiculous amount of multiples, Gaelic Warrior is one of the biggest bets I’ve ever had. He’s literally in a hundred points worth of multiples minimum and as much as I’m nervous, I know he’s over a stone well in and if he runs to any sort of level I believe he can, he won’t be beaten.

It’s nerves. It’s excitement. It’s why we all do it. For the last time, go on the good thing. Show them why you got that FJ nickname all those weeks and months ago.

    • If GW wins I'll be happy for the forum folk who've smashed in at prices and had it right off, but I don't think he will. Being a stone well in or perhaps even more is where you want to be, but his inexperience is glaring at me. He'll need to be well in and handle the track and handle the 20+ runners and handle the obstacles - just too many question marks at that short a price. Champion Green and Doctor Churchill for me, plus Swinging London at 100's on the machine. My hope is the day has gone well enough up to this point where I don't really care what wins the boodles!

Gaelic hasnt been the horse that people seem to think he is for what ever reason, in terms of a flashy bridle horse that will track the leaders on the bit crusing behind to go when he wants to...

Iv obviously started a huge gamble from 25s and 20s down, but within that, i have mentioned all season on my site, that he's not a small compact pacey juvenile. Hes a really nice future 3 mile chaser that stays very well and shouldnt be outpaced assuming that he will probably be held up. He needs a shade of luck in running, Hopefully he manages to get up, but the race is a lot more competative than the market suggests.

        • Prairie Dancer's price holding well at the moment. Hoping he go's out again to at least 25s this morning and I'll go in again. Skycutter and Swinging London at big prices.

              Edit: Didn't see the above!

                • 10/1 winner and 28/1 3rd with 3 selections is ok - esp in this tricky race!

                        • He's murdered Brazil a few times on the way round. If he doesn't jump right, I'd probably say Brazil wins more comfortably. He was poleaxed halfway.

                          • I feared GW backers were in trouble when he kept going out to the right. Think he clouted into other horses at least twice, doing so. It looked like an easy scoot around from the front as well, which must have been deliberate to keep out of trouble. Must have went very short in running.

                            • Worth checking Paul T's strike rate around the old course, since taking over from Ruby
I've always had him down as performing better on the new course

                              Bookies let off there

The horse got itself beat let's be honest

                                Jumped violently to the right

Brazil would likely have won by way further had he not been badly impeded several times by gaelik warrior

As a backer I lay no blame at the foot of the jockey
