In an email to a member.
That chase entry is an odd one at this time of the season.
Even though he's won & finished 2nd on yielding ground. Its true Connell games (without the O')

Yeah, I thought it strange myself, but in the same email he said Good Land was going ballymore, and Marine was fine and on track for the supreme.
Subsequently only entered for the ballymore.

So, so far it's playing out.
          We'll find out next week.

I'm disappointed as he's a big player in the pertemps with the jockey's claim.
Hopefully it was flippant or they've had a change of heart/mind.

Fingers crossed he makes it over.

Your relying on Meade campaigning a horse as well as Elliott does for a handicap though, which I’m not sure about, for all that Meade has won cheltenham handicaps before. There has to be a fair chance the horse is just on the decline and they’re just rolling the dice.

                Quite possible.

I don't think he's declined that much, I think he's been running at the wrong trip in the wrong ground.

I think he needs the intermediate trip and most definitely better ground.

Agree on the trip and ground, and lto was obviously a step back in the right direction, but it’s hard to say he has any improvement left in him, and I think his uk mark is 152, which doesn’t look like it has much wiggle room. I’d still be interested in him though as one of the class horses in the race, if conditions came up right for him.

                  • Camprond is clearly being readied for the spring Festivals by Philip Hobbs, went down 9lbs in 7 days recently. Now below the mark from when 4th in 2022 Coral Cup and/or won at Punchestown.

With his Irish mark down to 145, it would seem very harsh for the English handicapper to give him 7lbs as an older exposed horse. Where did you get the 152 from? Prices are up on 365 now for anyone interested

I thought this when the last Hills double odds boost was on and still think so now.

When you go to the horses profile on Irishracing.com and click on his entries he has one in the stayers hurdle, and it lists his English rating as 152. But maybe that’s just his rating from the last time he ran in England and it hasn’t been revised yet.

No Ordinary Joe hopefully, think he’ll improve for the step up in trip.

You'd have to watch his stable tour but he seemed to say county from memory.
