It is now his only entry for Cheltenham so it’s either here or he doesn’t come over.
Has he been given an updated hurdle mark this season ?
Was off 151 in last seasons Pertemps and Come on Teddy, who was half a length behind, was put up 3lb I think so TBO could find himself off 154/155 here, Is that a winnable mark ?

If he stays on 151 he'd have a decent chance. Pulling up the last twice, albeit over fences, will help his cause A few have won around that figure in recent times. He's placed in his only 2 festivals which is a massive plus and he could relish the return to hurdles after disappointing chasing this season. It's his only entry which takes the eye.

      • Whilst he’s not been missed exactly (8/1 with PP/BF), I do think I Am Maximus is a very decent NRNB play here at 14/1 with 365. It’s his only hcap entry, a novice in off 134 for a top yard, very solid form with Hillcrest now rated 148 & the horse a further 11 lengths back in 3rd that day Get A Tonic now also rated 134. Gave her the 7lbs mares allowance that day too so simple handicapping says this horse is on a very fair mark with strong scope to improve. In Ballymore too but you wouldn’t expect him to be good enough there on current ratings. Just not a 14/1 shot if turning up for me so had a nice play NRNB.

He’s been very popular on Twitter for this too and it’s certainly one of the more generous marks out there by the look of it. Just depends on if Hendo still persists with the Ballymore or not.

Did Hendo not say he was heading for the Ballymore, or did I dream that ?

              • So I'm going to max it here also. I am on for bally a few times but I would tear my hair out if he comes here instead.
                12s or 14s is a good price.
Hendo good record in the race
Other few runners look to be going elsewhere.
So I will go max + call me lord.

The other one that keep staring me in the face is Micromanage. Running tomw?
Entered in a few things. I know a few people mention Micro on here. Have we figured where he really is destined for?

                I am maximus 14s
                Call me lord 40s
                Micro Manage 25s

                • I agree I Am Maximus looks to be on a nice rating but would people not be worried about him being outstayed/battled at the finish?

To me the race Hillcrest beat him at Cheltenham over 2m4f (50 odd yards), was his to lose and he managed to do that when Hillcrest outstayed him. Henry Daly has since said, even after winning over the Bartlett trip, that he wouldn’t be worried running over 2m5f if the Ballymore. There’s likely to be something that possibly stays better than I Am Maximus in the field. His hurdling hadn’t been too fluent at times too which can go against you in a big field handicap.

Thanks for plugging my twitter for me JM!

There’s a good chance that he goes to the Ballymore, but he would just be playing second fiddle to others, even those in his own yard.

He’s at least 10lb well in on that run, any improvement would see him even more ‘well-in’.

I’ve watched that race a few times and I just think he was outstayed by a horse that I think could be abit of a star in the making.

IAM won his bumper against My Drogo at Cheltenham because he stayed so I don’t have worried about that.

for me, he’s a rare bit of NRNB value at 14/1

                    • Certainly seems like a lot of us are like minded on IAM

                      • It was my question he answered on Racing TV with Jess Stafford too when saying his lenient handicap mark was a good point!

                        • Just going through The Liffey again (Call me Lyreen winner) Drop The Anchor (red cap) finished very strongly from the back for 5th. He finished 7th in the County last year (unfancied) and his only entry this year is The Coral Cup. Doesn't meet every trend, and would need a bit of cut in the ground. This could be quite interesting???

Yes, very. He’s screaming for the step up in trip and ran well in the County for 7th considering he was squeezed a couple of times after the second last when coming with a run.

20/1 best price seems a bit short though at this stage. He doesn’t look chucked in on his form, isn’t trained by a popular trainer & doesn’t look the sort that JP will plunge (nor many tipsters putting him up) so can see 25/1+ with 6-7 places on the day personally.

                            • Can micro manage get in either Coral or County now after that?
