  • As The Fellow says, I think the UK tax will give her 135/136 which would have got in 4 of the last 5 years. If she is entered but doesn't make it, we will also get our money back.

    • I couldn't pick a race to ask this but anyone got an inkling where The Shunter might go? Entered in 2m5f handicap chase at DRF this Sunday, 153 over fences probably too high for a handicap but off 146 over hurdles, could he end up in this? Chuck in a decent claimer and he'd be high in my list.

Isn’t that 146 his Irish hurdle mark ?
Having hacked up in last seasons renewal off 140
I’d expect his mark to be North of 150.
I could be wrong but I don’t think he
was reassessed (by UK ‘capper) after Cheltenham…

Not sure with regards to the reassessment. Think he's a very capable horse and his second behind Protektorat at Aintree in the graded novice chase last season looks pretty good form. Just haven't got a clue what race he may be aimed at!

He’s a very talented horse who was expertly campaigned last season to take advantage of the marks he was given.
But, like you, I can’t help with his March target…

            • Tipped up Finest evermore for this a few weeks back, but now got another horse in mind which is Queens Brook .i know Elliot has said he wanted to go Mares hurdle but surely he can't turn down a mark of 131 and going to Cheltenham with a 137 or 138 mark when the british handicapper has assessed? Only horses I like in this along with Finest evermore and I think Queens brook will beat Finest evermore thinking about it now. Queens Brook is just so well handicapped for this and I'm hoping Gordon brings her here I've done small doubles and singles for this horse NRNB .

I like both too. Backed Finest Evermore today but was hoping to see Queens Brook entered up at some point just to know she's well, tbh. Although it is NRNB now so can probably take the risk.

                • Think fils doudairies is of interest for this. If you haven’t watched his last race back then you should. Watch between the 2nd last and last hurdle, nico stopped riding the horse. Then after the last he kind of nonchalantly cracked it with the whip twice and the horse instantly ran on again and easily wrapped up 2nd place staying on giving you the impression the extra distance will play to its strengths.

Given it was his 1st run over hurdles since France and returning from chasing I thought it jumped brilliantly. And given how it was his 1st run since switching to hendo and how it was eye-catchingly ridden, you’d certainly expect it to come on from that and they’re saving it for another day. (coral cup you say, heresmewah!)

Does the horse need plenty of give in the ground? Possibly. Is the horse a bit in and out? Probably. Does the horse hate Cheltenham? Maybe. But when you factor in that run, the hendo connection, the French connection, the back class from a couple of his chase runs in Ireland, 4 of the last 5 winners have been 7 year olds, there’s enough substance for me to add him to the team sheet. If anyone disagrees, I’m happy to agree to disagree and shake on it

Flew home didn’t she! Will get a couple of pounds for getting so close to Party Central, but currently too low to get in surely?

NRNB so not harm done if not I suppose.

May get 4lb at home, then ~6 tax on top. Would be very unlikely yeah you’d have to say, would have scraped in last year, but probably an anomaly. But NRNB.

                          • Party Central up 14lbs which feels a little steep, although firstly, at least she'll get in now and secondly, Heaven Help Us went up 12lbs for winning it last season.

Hopefully Gordo can stick a claimer on her, he's got a couple of decent ones to choose from.

Don't think she'll head to the Mares Novice?

Potentially yeah, it is an option for sure. I've only backed her NRNB, so not too concerned if that were the case
