I know a few fancy Gowel Road for this - trainer suggests 2m4 Martin Pipe handicap as his target rather than the Coral Cup. NTD reckons Guard of Dreams will be his Coral Cup horse...
EDIT: Doesn't state the Pipe by name but says "go down the 2m4 handicap hurdle route" at Cheltenham.

I cant see where he mentions the pipe?
Gowel Road
He finished a good second at Lingfield last weekend and could go down the 2m4f handicap hurdle route.

For those who can't access the quotes. The Cheltenham team
Fantastikas
He's a stamina-laden horse and the plan at the moment is the National Hunt Chase. I think he'll go well. Gowel Road
He finished a good second at Lingfield last weekend and could go down the 2m4f handicap hurdle route. Guard Your Dreams
He was beaten last time but that was a good race and I think he could still be well treated for the Coral Cup. I Like To Move It
He's in the Supreme but before that he'll go for the Betfair Hurdle and we still like to think he's well handicapped on what we see at home. He's only a novice but he's very laid-back. Vienna Court
She was second at Huntingdon on Friday and could go for the Mares' Chase. Zambella
She was going well when she fell three out in last year's Mares' Chase and she'd have a decent chance in that race again.
NTD will be hoping it stays dry and Metier doesn't win the betfair and let the capper raise Gowel Road a lb(145 currently) on collateral
Should clarify - doesn't specify Pipe by name but it's in the section about Cheltenham targets and no other 2m4 handicap hurdle.
You can probably assume the Coral Cup and Martin Pipe.
Though his son can't ride in the Pipe.
And the horse has won over the 2M5F New Course Coral Cup trip and beating the CC fav, and is 14lb better than him on new Handicap mark vs his win in that November race they finished 1-2 in.
I would think the Coral Cup is the preference.
Avoids a lot of the Mullins and Elliott Novice hurdlers that frequent and win the Pipe regularly.
Mullins and Elliott don't tend to run Novices in the Coral
Cup.

It's good that you're sharing knowledge and insight, but the info here was pretty inaccurate. You were quite specific about them suggesting Pipe over Coral Cup, when the quote is actually very vague and just says 2 and half miles which could be either race and doesn't suggest one over the other. With b365 being keen on cancelling cashout this year, I have needlessly cashed out a 20/1 bet. Glad I wasn't too hasty and kept the 25/1 ticket I have.

Can only apologise for that - my bad. New to the forum and need to brush up on how to best relay such information. Will take a look around at some of the veterans and try to do better.

I suppose you've read it a certain way and interpretated it a certain way, so don't worry about it. Appreciate you were trying to share useful knowledge. I think with 365 being sharper this year, I am being more hasty when hearing anything about a horse whereas before I would have looked more into it and found further evidence before reacting. Plus I probably had some doubts anyway about the bet (well the 2nd bet) which was probably why I was happy to chuck it straight away anyway, so no harm done.
I can see why you've interpreted it that way when he specifically mentions the Coral Cup for Guard Your Dreams immediately below. Be an odd choice from them though imo.
Making my move for Queens Brook now with Hills going 20/1 NRNB 5 places. Think she's a superb bet on these terms. Gordon has targeted the race with Mares before and surely he's not going to waste her mark of 131?
Her run in the Champion Bumper looks exceptional, especially as it was only her second run under rules and the third of her life. If you look at the horses behind her TTL achieved a peak hurdles rating of 143, Eskylane 145, even Julies Stowaway who was well behind 133. So whilst we haven't seen the best of her over hurdles yet, I feel confident she is at least a 140 horse. Trip looks ideal, she seems to favour better ground and course form a huge boost. No risk now with NRNB.
Surely he is going to be trying particularly hard for the Moran's this year. Make it happen Gordon
