Know how you feel. It's been draining hasn't it.

What mark do you think he’s going to get raised for Tuesdays win + our assessor ? On a side note MW was ice cool and is riding out of his skin at the min.

              • Reckon it's a very short list of horses to win (Cheltenham) handicap hurdles after winning a Grade 2 hurdle LTO

Yes he is. He gets a lot of stick and I’ve probably not been his biggest fan at times but some of his rides lately have been majestic imo.

One thing to note about Thedevilscoachman which puts me off is that he has only won when the pace hasn't been too great. In the 2 hurdle races he has faced a good pace early on, he has ran very poorly. A frantic pace in this race may not see him to best effect.

Certainly appears to appreciate softer conditions so a big field frenetic pace on spring ground admittedly would be a different ball game for him.

                        • I see that Camprond continues to shorten for this race. Are people not the slightest bit concerned that nearly every one of his runs has been on good ground? There must have been many opportunities for Hobbs to run him on soft ground. I know expectation used to be that the meeting starts on good to soft and dries through the week, but these days I am not sure you can be confident that is going happen.

He's in the pipe as well.
Surely this meeting has a better chance of the ground being more suitable than through the winter months though ?
                            Hence the entries.

If you are taking 33/1 perhaps it is worth the risk, but punters are now being asked to take 14/1. Unfortunately, many will just follow a tipster in, and not check what's on the table. Personally, I would have my doubts about him finishing his race off over 2m5f on good to soft or worse.

                              • Just looking through the entries and the one that caught my eye was… dare I say it…. The Bosses Oscar.

It is now his only entry for Cheltenham so it’s either here or he doesn’t come over.

Now obviously this wasn’t the plan at the start of the season but having now overly impressed over fences Gordy has presumably decided to preserve his Novice status for next season (NHC 2023 - here we come!).

Gordon & Bective do have others in for this race more likely in Grand Roi and the mate if she were to head here but on his hurdles form he would surely be in with a squeak?! Has placed at the last two Festivals albeit on the new course.

The Coral Cup does seem to attract horses that have reverted back to hurdles mid season.

Now maybe I’m clinging onto this after finding a RAB that had Galvin, RWF, Grand Paradis & TBO all to place and thinking it is as dead in the water.
Hopeful rather than optimistic that it could now come in.
