  • Buddy Rich is currently entered for a 2m grade 3 novice chase at Naas on Sunday. One to keep an eye on, even though Elliott said he would go straight to Cheltenham.

    • With the fewest entries of all the handicaps ,38 , potentially some very low 130s could get into this.

      • Disappointed not to see Magic Saint entered.

I thought he had a shout. Not in the Plate either, so maybe an injury.

He's done a tendon, won't be seen for a good while.

Won well over C&D in October, beat Amoola Gold at his beloved Ascot and then gave Funambule Sivola a proper race (even though went too hard) at Donny. FS is now rated 158 and won the Game Spirit, BM is off the same mark as Donny - 148.
Old course suits being on the pace, trainer said when it won at the course in October this is the target and his horses are bang in form.
Now the entries are out this race dare I say it this looks like it will be dominated by the higher rated horses 145+ they just look to have a class edge and the last few years have done pretty well in this, of those and guessing the Irish marks I too liked BM of the lot and his canny young trainer has targeted races well this season.

Ah, not good. They were plotting him up rotten for something but probably won't see him again. Thanks for the info.

Sky Pirate is top rated of the entries at 156, top weight gets 11-12, Andy is 152 so should get 11-08 by my reckoning.

                      • No worries, Bunk, I'd love to see Andy round Cheltenham, was devestated he didn't run as a novice hurdler, I'm expecting a Morgan Freeman esq commentary moment as he breaks free from the field.

There’d be Irish tax on top of that though, so wouldn’t be far off topweight.

Mullins has never won a festival handicap chase
