    • Will Colonel Mustard turn up here? Hurdles form behind Sir G, Jonbon & State Man reads very well. And beaten on two chase starts by Hollow Games & El Fab is pretty smart form as well.

Maybe not the quickest over his fences but hopeful he can improve with experience. Was entered in the Betfair so unsure if they’re planning on going back over hurdles. Has anything seen anything?

Would be keen on him if turning up here though

      • Thyme White for Nicholls, won as he liked 2 runs back and was quite eye catching last time out, finishing down the field and dropped 2 lbs. He was pulled from this race last year so im assuming it will be the plan again

No bet until the day of the race though as this is a minefield

Needs another run over fences to qualify, and due to run in the betfair hurdle on Saturday. So I'd hold any bets.

I am quite heavily invested on him for this... but its starting to look unlikely. Very disappointing as his form is looking rock solid and he is rated 7lb's lower over fences than hurdles so cant really understand their thinking. I thought his jumping was pretty decent first two runs... Agree with maybe not the quickest as you say, but certainly not bad enough to make you think he couldn't make a chaser.

If he runs Saturday, the dream is over.

Hadn't spotted that. Just looked and yes he's been pulled. Great news. The dream is back alive

Yeah, he may have been, just looked on atr and betting,
But might not have been declared this morning.

                    He's very ground dependant.

Just so hard to think it's been the plan though for connections.

Would they be plotting to win a festival handicap?

I'd just strikre a line though....

                      • Does Frere D'Armes need one more run before the festival to get into a handicap?

I see he's already got a chase mark but only had two runs.

He does but he’s also injured and won’t be going unfortunately.

                            • He’s very ground dependent but on soft or heavy I think Pipe has mapped Sizing Pottsie out perfectly this season, using his novice status over hurdles to gain fitness before drop his mark notably in top company!

                              • Third Time Lucki:

'I think the reality is that he will go to Aintree but if the weather stays like this, he would have to be in. We know he really likes nice ground and it’s not often you get a chance to at a Festival on particularly nice ground for a horse like him. Everything came together the other day at Sandown, he got a great ride and he won nicely. I think it’s the first time he’s actually been down at the last and won, normally he’s got the race over by two out and has to last to the line. It’s the first time he’s knuckled down and really seen the trip out properly, which is very positive. He is a horse who I really think suits the Old Course - a fast track and bang on two miles. He would be an obvious horse for the Grand Annual.'

Grand Annual bid not quite as dead as I thought then....
