I haven’t got anything for this so been having a good look this morning…… There seems to be some solid British challengers who are sure to be in the mix, the likeable Coole Cody at 33/1 seems a solid each way option back down to 145 but I think I prefer Fusil Raffles from their running in December he belted a couple down the back, one in particular jolting his momentum and dropped to 149 now I can see him running a huge race at 20/1.
Obviously when looking at handicaps your eye gets drawn to what Irish horse has the proverbial 10lb in hand and I’m not sure I’ve found it yet! But Blue Sari does interest me, the form of his chase debut behind Farouk D’alene looks strong and he could get in here off low 140’s…… he still needs 1 more run over fences to be eligible for this and I can’t see any entries but will keep my eye out as 25/1 seems very reasonable!

Possibly a wild one - but is there any chance Samcro comes here after his pop round on Sunday? Scratched from all the championship races yesterday and just (optimistically) thinking he maybe isn't totally gone at the game.
Would need to rewatch the race again but he's now down to a mark of 150 after being dropped 2lbs from the weekend - he would still be towards the top of the weights but Gordy has got him back sweet for the festival before and if he were to turn up could see him running a big one.
Will wait for entries I suppose...

This race I still have no idea who I think might be good for this, although one in mind was Blue Sari but I want to see its mark before putting anything on for this.Last edited by Nathaniel99999; 10 February 2022, 01:56 AM.

So is today the day we see signs of life from Coconut Splash or have we given up on him?
Can only see him priced up with Sky for this, who offer a horrendous 12/1.
Really fancied him to develop into something decent this season, so much so that I put him in my 10 to followthought he would take one of the big handicaps early in the season then onto this or up to graded races.
Unfortunately instead he’s had one of the most bizarrely planned campaigns I’ve seen, so think I’ll blame the trainer instead of my poor judgement!

Have been keeping an eye on Mister whitaker recently. Was brought into the DMcCain yard last year for a tilt at the grand national, was seen novice hurdling to start with then had his first chase, after a wind op ,last month at Kelso. He's not getting anywhere near the national off 137 so thought this might end up being plan B. 3rd in the plate 2yrs ago off 152 and now back to 137 which was his mark when winning the close brothers.. 3 time winner round cheltenham, spring horse. Have been refused prices by bet365,paddys and whills for this and the ultima. Been entered up again at the weekend, but interestlingly back dn in trip(mid trip) and thought Plan B must be the option now...if anyone would be kind enough to try for a price it would be most appreciated...

I was impressed by Celebre D’allen last week at Warwick
I had been looking for something to back in this
It is a confirmed target and the owner has won it twice before
The only thing that is stopping me right now is the price
Bookmakers giving nothing away this year, very frustrating
