Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

  • I can't believe Spiritofthegames is still 25/1 for this even after declarations at this stage and its the only horse I've done for this, I may have to go in again on the horse as the value for this at 25s at this point is really over priced for this. I think people do forget this horse has placed twice in this and is now 11lbs below its mark since it ran in this race in the past and it ran on in its last race and the horse went down 1lb for that prep race which I found surprising personally. I was banging on about this horse for the Ultima but its been declared its running in this most likely though.

Yeah an interesting one given festival form and lower weight accounting for the age now.

May get bigger than 25/1 at some point though too. The kind of horse people may miss.

      • Nathaniel99999 - do you like Spiritofthegames by any chance?

I think his chance is fair but likely to stay a bigger price.

Last 6 winners were novices or second season chasers.

None of the last 8 winners had more than 11 chase runs.

        Last 10 winners aged 6 - 9.

Last 6 winners all making their Festival debut.

Think many will just feel he is a bit exposed to be winning. he's certainly an E/W play with extra places on the day though!

I mean the horse reminds me of Vintage Clouds, like it took that horse a number of tries to win the Ultima and when it did it finally went down to a decent mark. Its just how I see SOTG for this now down to a decent enough mark ran in this race I think twice now and its on its 3rd try and I think the only horse who I do see as a danger would be Fusil Raffles. But I'd still do SOTG out the two plus you look at some horses in the top of the market who may not even be going to this race either.

          • I could quite easily see Spiritofthegames place, especially with the extra places on the day, but absolutely no way I can see him winning.

              Hopefully you'll get 10 places

He’s favourite with books/exchange so I’d say yes. Hobbs hasn’t come out with anything contrary and he’s no other options.

                        • I like the look of Adrimel in this. His form on heavy is 5/5 and that's 7/7 when you extent that to include soft. He's hopeless on proper spring ground and his bumper run here can be excused as he was a big brute at the time and it was never going to suit.

Last run wasn't remarkable in any sense - but it got him a mark to get him comfortably in and the trainer did well with Tea Clipper on Tuesday.

20's 6 places with 365 looks very, very fair.

The one who does look interesting if the ground rides heavy. I'll leave it alone until later in the day and see what the time is like in the Ryanair.

Seems to be drying out much quicker than anticipated. Beautiful morning too, which won't help his cause. Happy to throw that in the bin if we're not racing on a quagmire for the rest of the card.
