Hello Fat Jockeys,

  • The handicapper will be thinking of every way he can to justify giving him 146!

IMO, there is no way. Gave him 3lbs last season (as Q pointed out), just won his first chase by 1/2 a length, after being well beat LTO. Different handicapper this season. I can't see him raising Floueur 6lbs for that, that said, Frontal Assault looks the one, doesn't he? And he definitely won't be given 8lbs tax for that run

Reckon he's now odds-on to make the cut though.

        • He's been applying some significant chunks of tax to the Irish entries so far this season CoD, and 6lbs is well within some of the rises he's given Irish horses.

Do I think he will? No. Would I be surprised if he did? Also no.

          • Stuart Williams has put up Frontal Assault 10/1. But late to the party with that one.

              • I requested odds on recent winner Fakir d'Alene for this. The best that I got back was 14s with Paddys although NRNB is 12s elsewhere. Not a huge price but with the NRNB it's not terrible either. Entered at DRF this weekend and currently on 135 after his recent win, hopefully he gets a traditional fishing for a UK mark entry before long.

Rob James (rode Milan Native to success in this) rode last time out and this could be Gordon building the relationship between horse and jockey if they are intending on going down this route. On the face of things I think he could get in at the bottom end of the weights which would be a plus. Thoughts?

                    • Noble Yeats won’t be getting in this after finishing so close to Anoy Senor. He needed to lose three pounds, which I can’t see happening now.

                        Given a very strange campaign

                        • Flouer running in the GN trial sunday is surely a negative for him coming here? From memory thats certainly not the kind of prep gordon would give his kim muir runner. Which leaves us with grand paradis and frontal assault. Id be siding with the later

I believe Floueur is currently rated 140 in Ireland after his win a couple of weeks ago, which will be borderline 145 with the additional British handicapper tax. Can't have him finishing in the 1st 3 on Sunday to stand any chance of coming here.

Like you said Jrow, doesn't follow the usual pattern GE uses for his KM runners!
