Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

"Nicky Henderson's representative was questioned with regards to the improved form shown by Janika in this race. The representative stated that he had no explanation for the improved form shown by the horse. He further added that the plan had always been for the horse to be ridden by this jockey in this race to try and get the owner's racing manager's son his first Cheltenham winner, but that couldn't possibly explain why the horse suddenly came back to his best form. The representative's best guess was that the horse improved for the step up in trip, which he'd never previously shown any form over.". The stewards accepted the explanation.

They accept anything, especially in Ireland.
        They especially enjoy accepting backhanders.

I was referring to the tongue tie trick Gordon uses.

Grand Paradis has worn a tongue tie on his last 5 runs......

I noticed that an hour after my post , so Grand Paradis or Fleuor up to now. Will keep an eye out for the application of a tongue tie for frontal assault sometime in feb if he runs again after this weekend

          • It makes you wonder why Irish horses are able to plunder the handicaps. On one hand we have elaborate plans involving tongue ties, and on the other we have a trainer announcing to the world on the eve of their race that a festival target is one which the horse is currently rated too highly for by 3lbs

                • What a line

"Jumped it like a bag of spanners"

Floueur won anyway, was flat to the boards miles out definitely wants a step up in trip

                  • All 3 of them would have a massive chance here wouldn't they?

As a Fleuour backer for this race, I'm worried that win will push his mark over 145 now

                      • Frontal Assault a huge player here

                        • Good little race that. Could probably argue a case for all three for this race, IMO.

I'm a backer of Floueur so I'm hoping he is the 'one' but his jumping worries me a bit.

I’m going to top up on him I think. Owes me from the Martin pipe last year and looks a huge chance of repaying that debt. Agree Floueuer may be borderline after that win & tax added.

Ran a decent race off 143 in the pipe and the British handicapper will use hurdles form when rating one too.

                            • Wasn't a handicap, will floeur even get put up for that?

                              be interesting to see

                              • I just wonder if Gordon intends running Floueur in a different race.

Could he go for the Plate, have another crack at the Pipe or even the Ultima?

And I say that as someone who backed him with the Kim Muir in mind. I thought he was being plotted for the race but today's effort certainly wasn't part of any plot and I agree with others that he'll now be sailing perilously close to 145.
