Hello Fat Jockeys,

            • PLEASE HELP - Betfair negative balance

Just after todays changes at 12pm, my Betfair account moved from credit into a negative, forcing me to top up

I have queried this with BF and they say this can happen as markets shift, but will correct itself and not to worry

However, please tell me if i am being a thickie here....i don't see how this is possible? I thought BF always remove from your balance the highest liability in that race? So, when horses come out, the balance can and does move up as your biggest losers are withdrawn.....but i don't understand how it can move negative?

I do recall BF had issues with a fault on this a few years ago, so thinking it has possibly happened again?

Has anyone else had this experience, or can anyone explain this who understands the exchanges well

Thanks for any help & have a great week all

I had this before, really annoying!

I went on live chat and got it rectified and they sorted it 'as a gesture of good will'.

It wasn't a huge amount though, so that's probably why!

Not sure if this is the reason for you but this can happen due to supplementary entries. For example if you had laid Inothewayourthinkin back in December at say 21 for £10 then you would have £200 taken from your available balance to cover the liability. When the horse was scratched from the race his price would be set to 1 on Betfair and the £200 would be released back to your available balance. You then use this balance to place other bets and the available balance reduces to say £50. The horse is then supplemented and so your original liability becomes real again and they have to reduce your available balance by £200 - in this example turning it into negative £150.

                        • Had a bit of an idea. This could just be a bad idea as i am sat here waiting for the action to start unfolding but i think the site could incorporate a members chat box. Obviously we all comment on individual threads but there could be a pop up box which would be perfect for weeks like this where people could just accumulate in the same space and just generally abuse each other or chat

I remember years ago an old racing message board I was on used to do a chat room while the racing was on. Was limited to 20 people so had to be early getting in! All before mobile phones became more than just phones

                            • Will the live docs discussion go here or go into each individual race as they are declared ?

Can't remember if we had a live decs thread last year

Chat GPT is an unreal tool. It gave me a new gym routine based on my age, sex, height, weight and BMI and gave me a diet plan for 10% fat. You have just given me an idea. I just asked it this......

can you give me the most likely 1,2,3 in the 2025 supreme novices hurdle ChatGPT said:

The 2025 Supreme Novices' Hurdle, the opening race of the Cheltenham Festival, features a competitive field. Based on current form and expert analyses, the top contenders are:
                                1. Kopek Des Bordes: Trained by Willie Mullins, Kopek Des Bordes remains unbeaten, having secured a decisive 13-length victory at the Dublin Racing Festival. Despite limited experience at Cheltenham, his impressive performances have made him a strong favourite for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle
                                2. Salvator Mundi: Also under the guidance of Willie Mullins, Salvator Mundi has shown consistent form this season, achieving back-to-back victories. His recent performances position him as a leading contender in the race.
                                3. Workahead: Trained by Henry de Bromhead, Workahead impressed with a 7-length win at Leopardstown. He is considered a strong each-way prospect for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle.
