Simply closing ordinary punters down as part of the collateral damage of shutting down a very small percentage of arber's and pro's.
If this were the case then I’d suggest Bookmaking wouldnt be a profitable business !
With their current risk adverse strategy, through reducing liabilities, restrictions to ‘faces’ and quick action to close accounts, then I’d suggest winning accounts would be 10% or less
I wonder though how many winning accounts are still open currently as a percentage ?……the managers will be all over any accounts that are in front, requesting forensic analysis as to why and whether the customer has an edge and what restrictive actions are needed, either on where they think you have an edge or intel.

Traders would normally base any referred bet to what the customers normal betting pattern was ie £’s, sport etc and their existing liabilities, but if they now have access to someone’s personal financial info could this affect decision making?
I also would worry about the security of any personal information given, where it’s held, how it’s held and who has access to it.

I'd find it hard to be on here without online accounts to be honest!
It was a weird feeling when losing 365 a mixture of anger and then feeling even upset about it!!! I’ve always found it really strange that I could rack up 40k of debt tomorrow on the various credit cards I have and nobody would bat an eyelid but for having a bet on the horses I’m continually being made to feel like I’m a criminal!
Its times like when the changing man this week is double the odds of any other bookmaker out there which I know are the ones that really hit hard or the footy bet I would of won this week on 365 but lost because Walsall couldn’t hold on to a 2-0 lead………. Managed to get my Mrs to put some on the changing man for me, but wonder how long she will keep her account using the same Wi-Fi as me and registered at the same address.
Still got 4 or 5 I can use, just need to know the magic formula to keeping them

But I'd say nearer 2% would be about right. Over any reasonable period of time (year minimum), with consistent turnover.
Which is why restricting 40% of accounts in some way, is almost certainly affecting Revenue.
But unfortunately the bookies want to nip any risk in the bud as soon as it shows any glimmer - And this is indeed a big risk to the Sport and Levy.
I think they'd make more profit if they relaxed a bit, but they would probably argue they don't need too. Cos they have enough crack addict casino players they can wring out.

The slot and casino games all have an edge built in for the house so are impossible to win on long term and are played by the kind of people who even if they get a nice win will just keep spinning until it's gone
Horse races have a 115%+ overround
greyhound races have more like 130%
football prices are crap
Without significant hard work it's simply not possible
1% feels about right and they are the ones who get restricted or accounts closed
though you don't even need to be in profit on an account to lose it
my 365 account went after royal ascot 2023 when I backed 6 or 7 horses antepost and they all shortened drastically. They all lost but I got the dreaded email the week after anyway.Last edited by FinalFurlong91; Yesterday, 08:39 PM.

"4 hours remain until 'financial vulnerability' checks start on those depositing over £150 in a month into a GB licenced gambling account." https://x.com/chrisgambler247/status...C-8KM-VAA&s=19
If we will start getting checked for depositing 150 quid a month, the game is done

I am not sure I have the patience for the old school ante post punting now, as the prices aren't old school
