  • HELP - feeling dumb today

Not sure i understand the new rules for Hcaps as regards chases and the number of runs?

How many CHASE runs are needed to qualify

Lets take an example which many are prob watching....Waterford Whispers, who has 2 chase runs

Does he need to run again over fences to qualify for the Novice Chase and if he wanted say the Plate?

    Thx for help

    • 3 Chase runs needed for Novice Handicaps (ie. ex Turners and National Hunt Chase)
4 Chase runs needed for Open Handicaps (ie. Ultima, Grand Annual, Plate etc...)

There's been a fai bit of confusion about this lately, but for waterford whispers I'm pretty sure it would be one more run for the novice race, and two more runs for the plate.

          • The Jukebox Man news today has inspired me to have a Cash Out extravaganza. Out have gone :

            Karoline Banbou (MNH) @ 20/1

High Class Hero (BANC) @ 20/1

            Murcia (Triumph) @33/1

Impaire Et Passe (Arkle) @ 10/1

            Inthepocket (Arkle) @ 16/1

Jasmin de Vaux (Turners) @ 8/1

And I have zero regrets. Each of those bets was placed in October/November. I am sure there is a message there for next year. They all looked solid bets at the time. Was surprised I could still Cash Out on them all. We go again.

I don't think you will regret any of them.

I am at peace with the decision. Thanks.

                • I have a weekend ticket for the DRF but unfortunately will not be able to go.

Does anyone need a ticket? It is a pdf so I can email it over. A small donation to pancreaticcancer.org.uk would suffice

Also have a Ryanair flight Stansted to Dublin on Friday at 18.10pm and a BA flight back to London City on Monday 11.05am though you'd have to pay for passenger name change

                  • Jake Price has Tweeted out about the rules, which apply to both Novices & Non-Novices.

At the bottom he has said the following:

The above rules apply to both Novices & Non-Novices. All qualifying runs must be made by Sunday 23rd February!

That last point about qualifying runs may be worth keeping in mind for those who have placed bets with cash out available on horses that may not qualify by that date.

No, I didn't mean you. Always bears repeating on here.

I meant Jake Price. Must be an occasional lurker.

Jake's post today was only to edit a previous post of his which breaks down qualifying requirements for each race. A post he'd originally tweeted in December before the BHA provided clarity.

He also posted separately about the BHA notice at the time it was issued (23rd Jan). He was the first person I'd picked it up from to be fair.

App crashed for the ends to the CL games
No cash outs / no checking where your bet is at / no in play

I was 90% of the way through my ante post bets as well
