He’s fine, he’s been on holiday in the sunshine.

His syndicate horse, Spectre One, makes his debut in the Bumper at Huntingdon this afternoon, so he will probably be with a few FJ syndicate members there.

            • JJ Slevin got the double green job. But more importantly they've stayed calling themselves 'double green'

I think that’s a good move for both.

                  • It is indeed. I think he’s proved himself more than capable last couple seasons

                    • Wonder if he will get the Willie horses in double green

                      I'd presume not?

Unless theyre not Pauls choice in a race

                      • They've barely got anything in the UK now anyway. Do they have many horses in Ireland outside of Willie and Crawford? I know they've got a couple with JOB, Gibney and Henry but if Paul's going to have the pick of the double green at Willies, it's not that great a job is it.

I think Paul gets first choice but is the only stable to do so.

He'll pick up the odd one for Willie then, and maybe when meetings clash and double green go elsewhere. He'll probablys nab a few graded races out of it thats for sure.

Be interesting to see if the Mulryans look elsewhere now though

                            • The Ultima: Early days as yet and not many bookies have horses listed for this race and what are listed are not attractively priced. One that is catching my eye is Tightenyourbelts trained by Emma Lavelle. He is bred to be a good staying chaser out of the same family as Macgoldrick (sire is Mahler). He looked to be going places as a novice until running 4th to Il Est Francais in the Kauto Star. He seemed to lose confidence and reverted to hurdling until returning to fences this season at Exeter winning well. He then turned up at Lingfield in December and beat Neon Moon 13l rcg 3lb off 132 (Rpr 143). He jumps accurately and likes to front run. He reached 140 before the Kauto Star and even with a hit from the hcpper should not be much higher than 140. I have no clue as to whether this race is his target but at 22/1 (with enhancement) nrnb (WH) he is possibly one to consider.
