Just don't take everything at face value unless somebody is actually obviously coming at you. We all want to beat the bookies. That is why i am here whether my input is taken on board or not. We are getting to the business end now. Trials day and the DRF and then all systems go where i am sure the forum will be in a generally upbeat mood anyway regardless of personal issues. I have mine, too many, and i know other posters do to. This is my last Cheltenham (due to the bookies) and am wanting to make the most of it so will only be around here for 3 more months but i have loved being on here even though i am probably a few years too late. Keep going RB, you are a very good poster
Thanks Yosser I appreciate your post. I feel your pain re bookies. I am left with very few also. I hope you take them to the cleaners if this is your swan song.

      Welcome to the club Rooster.
Its not official as I’m self diagnosed- but now have three autism T-shirts. Most have swearing on them also.
Like a hybrid of adult autism and Tourette’s with a bit of anxiety thrown in.
      And Yosser ?
I never intend to offend and therefore never take offence. I do get annoyed though on occasions.

Thanks Q …. I think you might be only poster on here that swears more than I do …. Everything is starting to make sense.

Why three, have you a fixation about odd numbers as well?

I'm more of an even number man myself and wash my hands an exorbitant amount of times throughout the day.

My Mrs says my quick recall of movie quotes and dislike of most people are also signs of some form of autism.

I could just be a dick.

Reminds me of the Half Man Half Biscuit lyric. “Is your child hyperactive, or is he perhaps a twat”.

              Probably not just her.

How old are you knowing bands like that ?
I thought you was one of the younger ones.

I want to share with folks that I am autistic. I am pretty old now and have only very recently been diagnosed having been in denial for many many years. I am not looking for pity, sympathy or passes for any behaviour of mine that frustrates or annoys anyone. Rather I am reminding folks of the message that was so effectively delivered during covid. Not all conditions, disabilities or whatever term is most appropriate are visible. They are even less visible when we cannot even see or hear the person and when we cannot refer to tone or body language for much needed sensory clues.

Sometimes my condition makes it very difficult for me to process emotions. I have worked around this my entire life without even knowing that what I was doing was not what everyone else was also doing. I have become an Olympic champion in masking. Typical of folks with Autism we are most intense when we are talking about our few passions (or more accurately obsessions). Obviously my obsession is Cheltenham and I struggle enormously to keep my emotions in check on here as I get triggered beyond anything I can describe. I do not know if it is good for me to be on here or not. I switch from day to day almost and I need to work this out. However this is not really the point of my post.

Please all of us continue to recognise and appreciate that we are all different and that the way we post, the way we communicate etc could well be a bi product of so many things most of which others have little or no awareness of. If in future if I piss any of you off(which I know I will do) because I am grumpy or too intense or anything similar please understand it is not personal and happens because in that moment I have struggled to process an overwhelming feeling.

                    Happy punting everyone
                    Thanks for sharing RB

Some of us, even when communicating in person still can’t read the “tone, body language or sensory clues” of others and whilst it doesnt fit the ‘neuro typical’ norm, there are many pluses and advantages of how people with Autism think, feel and behave……One is intense focus, attention to detail, passion for a particular hobby/pastime, which it sounds as if Cheltenham is for you……this is a great forum for debate, discussion, sharing and having fun about Cheltenham, so sounds to me as if you are in exactly the right place to share you’re passion with people who have exactly the same interest !

I look forward to continue reading you’re posts and if you happen to have a dig at Lobos now and again, well I’m all for it !

I should have realised I was a bit odd when I devised multi discipline tournaments for my matchbox car collection that took a week to complete or when I ranked my (and my brothers) entire record collection on lyrical content, musicianship and vocal delivery at the age of 11. Thank fuck for football otherwise I’d never have got out of my head .

                      Thanks for the post WL

Was just thinking this evening that I would be interested on a price for the UK to win the Prestbury Cup. We have the two shortest prices, a few other favourites along with the handicaps for which we have two more this season. Don't see anyone priced up but I would be hopeful it will be a lot closer than it has in recent years.

                        • Really really really random question (sat talking to my mate how I got into racing, and first memories)

There was a horse in IRE circa 2005 - 2010

                          A chaser

And he would literally nearly always win or fall

Any idea what the horses name was

Feel like it was a 1 word named horse, 'potentially' with Noel Meade but that might be way off

It must be a gazillion if anyone did get the name, I've give fucking nout

Only ones I can think of with one word names off the top of my head are Disko, Muirhead & Pandorama!

Probably none of them as I don't remember them being consistent 'fallers'.

Danoli comes to mind, although he was more late 90s early 00s.
