  • ….hearing that Aintree today has been abandoned, I’m close to the course and if it’s accurate, it’s not surprising.

Probably the right call, Liverpool players could do with the rest after so many games of late

                • Mullins tomorrow's preview
Billericay Dickie (Sean O’Keeffe) is a course winner but would need to improve significantly to get involved here.
Dancing City (Paul) is having his first run over fences but has won a point to point so jumping sholdn’t be a problem. This is his trip and he likes this track. He’s been working well and we’re expecting him to make a winning start over fences.

Olympic Man (Danny) is also making his chasing debut and hopefully he will jump fences better than he jumped hurdles.

                  Maiden Hurdle 2m 3f

Joystick (Paul) is making his hurdling debut. He jumps well and will like this trip. He’s being doing things nicely at home and we’re expecting a big run.

Listed Mares Novice Hurdle 2m 3f

Cool Park (Brian Hayes) won a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse last month but this is much more difficult and she will need to improve a lot.

Femme Magnifique (Danny) has plenty of jumping experience and will like the prevailing ground.

Hey Sunshine (Paul) is the highest of those with official ratings and comes here off the back of winning a handicap hurdle at Downpatrick last time. She has every chance.

                  Maiden Hurdle 2 Miles

Port Joulain (Paul) has point to point experience which will stand to him for this first run over hurdles. He has to overcome a poor run in a bumper here at the festival but we like what he has been doing at home recently.

You Oughta Know (Danny) is making his hurdling debut and brings good bumper form to the table. He jumps well and should be involved at the business end.

                  Conditions Hurdle 2 Miles

Kitzbuhel (Paul) is having his first run for us. He had nice form over hurdles in France but this is a tough task on his first run in Ireland against some highly rated horses.

Got Glory (Danny) also had good form in France and was second at the festival here in May. We will know more about our two after today.

                  • For those that have done the starting SP fav and antepost double have those bets restricted your account before the antepost bet has even ran?

No not yet, but I'm very selective with when I do it, really just when it's one who's a shortish enough price but I want to have backed at better odds than whats available outright. Id never do it with lets say port joulain tomorrow for example, hes a big price anyway so not worth the risk, just back it outright. And I keep the stakes on them low, so it's more of just a little supplement to backing the horse outright antepost. But I dont do it as often as I used to either, as it's not really worth it, you might get restricted even if the sp fav doesn't win a lot of the time, and lose your account for nothing.

                                Not in jumps racing no

It's given me a few nice winners on the flat though (and plenty of duds )

It's only really in US flat racing it's very useful as most of the races are run similarly hard.
