-3 currently in Wigan, Haydock only a few miles away but i would imagine its more like -5 or 6 out in the open. Last cold night tonight though so there won't be any frost but i will be doing all my form checking for heavy ground horses

        • Pleased about the decs for the betfair.
A lot more competitive than I thought it would be.
Lacking a real top notcher but with the french horse and 3 irish coming over it's at least got 8 runners as it stands.
Obviously the weather may hinder this if all that rain comes early on Saturday.
Backed Royal Pig early this week off the back of that.

The forecast for Saturday is persistent rain BigChaang. Had to Google The Eccleston Arms. St Helens, its a dirty word in Wigan that. You will probably have to wipe your feet before you leave the pub

He is of interest to me Q, just too short now. I have been through this race and am going to take two wild swipes at Limerick Lace and Bravemansgame. Both going in different directions on a trajectory level but Limerick Lace will go on the surface and Bravemansgame is wearing first time blinkers which i thought was interesting. Cobden stays down south though. He get's another chance after the seasonal opener though the turnaround seems a little quick like last season. Already had a little nibble on him ew for the KG amongst others so i will stay loyal until Christmas

                  • Hello all. I usually hate these kind of baggy messages but I'm off to ascot tomorrow on a work jolly and no idea about the current season. Any tips to make me look like a genius?

The one I’ve pulled the trigger on is Rare Edition in the 2m2f Novice Handicap Chase. Although winning FTO, he made hard work of it. He should come on for the run too as he looked to be carrying a bit of condition at Uttoxeter. I don’t think he’s quite sharp enough for 2m. The extra couple of furlongs should suit. He’ll get his ground too with all his hurdle wins (4) being on Good to Soft.

Off 1lb less than Gidleigh Park who could be very good, but 10/11 is no price to find out. I couldn’t have him being beaten by Bad even conceding 12lbs. So at 5/1 he could be an ew play.

                      • ….for those keeping an eye on Betfair Chase day at Haydock, no ice on the cars on Merseyside this morning but it’s quite wet out there with rain overnight & a hail storm at the moment.

Good news BigChaang just asked one of my St Helens scum Colleagues and he proudly tells me that the 'Eccy' arms is indeed swanky. Says it is mint and the food is awesome so you seem to have selected well
