…bigger price for a 3 runner race at Wexford than the Betfair Chase.

Hills now 14-1 (from 10-1) win today & Betfair.

        • I think Willie and JP will be quite happy with Corbetts Cross there. Good pipe opener. Was never there to win. Giving 15 lbs in Soft going this early the season. All systems go for the Betfair Chase me thinks.

          • And equally HdB and JP will be delighted with Inthepocket. Jumped beautifully and put Farren Glory away with ease. Very smart and now has got to be a real Arkle prospect. Slade Steelto the BANC anyone ?

I'll bet Emmet's pretty chuffed too.

                • Off to the DRF finally this year. Cheltenham festival, or more specifically, Cheltenham, is just too expensive.

Four of us going. We’ve provisionally reserved a hotel, but would welcome any recommendations from those who have been before. Ideally somewhere near Temple Bar. Thanks in advance.

Missed two weeks with small muscle problem apparently. Likely to return at Wetherby or Ascot. Working back from the Mares Hurdle but likely to take on the boys as well this season as not many Mares only races as options.

Any real reason for wanting to be near Temple Bar? It's pretty shite - and Dublin is very walkable

IMO the best craic around is Lower Baggot Street, 3 of the best pubs in the world within 200m of each other

I've stayed at the academy Plaza on parnell st.

Handy as the airport bus stops just outside and also the tram stop to Leopardstown is just round the corner,
5-10 mins walk to temple bar over the river.
Good bars nearby showing football etc.

And also the Riu Plaza Gresham, which is just round the corner on O'connell.

                        Both decent and reasonably priced.

                        Enjoy,

                        • I say reasonable.
But Ireland play England at Rugby next year so you'll obviously be aware of a premium on top of usual prices.
Think the 2 years I went we dodged that.

                          • robith Quevega Thanks both. That's useful stuff to be looking at. Robith - two first timers amongst us who are keen to experience Temple Bar, so one night will be spent there. But I take the point - it's all walkable more or less.

                            • Just back from a stag in Dublin.

Was at the temple bar area Friday night and then sports bar close by the Saturday. Was really good to be fair, needed to remortgage but was well warned about that prior to going so didn’t mind too much.

Suppose that’s the good thing with it being Euros don’t feel like you’re spending much

Are the prices that much different from Cheltenham??
