        • When does the book one jump ahead come out as bought last year and now turned into numb nuts?

Last year it was posted out end of September (25th I think), I bought it on 8th August and think I'm usually quick off the mark to do so. I get Jumpers To Follow too and the pdf version was sent out on 13th Sep.

              • Longshot but a shout out to my fellow Irish folks - if anyone can get their hands on some spare tickets for the All Ireland football final i'd really appreciate if you could drop me a PM. Not going to get sorted with the club so searching everywhere.
                Thanks.

                    • Is it fair to say that there is general apathy this year with regard ante post (Cheltenham) ?
I have three bets placed but this is more likely due to having no online access, but having been in here for many years I can't remember a time when so few suggestions/views were shared by all FJs.
Lack of value in the market ?
Uncertainty over potential changes to festival ?

Backing horses at single figures this far out, when we don't even know a likely target, is folly IMO so for me I will wait until much closer to the festival before I start having a wager. I noticed that in the week or two before last year's meeting, many of my fancies were no shorter than when I had backed them months before. For me, antepost betting is about risk v reward and there's very little reward on offer at the moment, so for the time being I will not be having a bet. I enjoy reading the Yankee threads and people's thoughts and musings but while the prices are so poor and your betting habits are coming under increasing scrutiny, I will observe from the sidelines for the time being. Keep the discussion going though - it's always good to talk!

All of the above really plus the uncertainty of targets, ballyburn for example is favourite for all three novice chases and could go for any of them.
It’s my smallest outlay at this stage since I started taking ante post seriously so maybe a change of approach this year.
Very little appeals value wise and like yourself have limited options these days with online accounts.

                            • My antepost was a bit hit and miss last year with my main return coming from a lovely double, so I'm going to monitor things and wait for February before placing most of my bets this time. Value is less this year too which affects things. I have a few bets on from March/April but will try a change of tack.

Roll on December and find I've fallen back into the same routine...
