  • Pricewise nailed Posh Boy tonight on the racing post preview.

I've thought for a long time that he is very quick to Pull Up.
And his mindset is weak, so every ride he's having he's looking for a way out. IMO

The 2 Henderson horses that ran really well (Luccia & Lucky Place) were not ridden by Nico, and he's pulled 11 of his last 14 rides Up.

Now him and Henderson are Pulling them Up before the races themselves.

    They've basically lost the plot.

Thanks Archie, I actually backed him on the back of your post at 10/1.

He is over a Million in front of Gordon based on the last figures I can see so an Aintree assault isn't out of the question

I find the whole thing very weird.

Which of the horses over the past two days were they expecting to win or go close? Jeriko? Jingko? The horse in the Ultima who's name I cant even remember? Iberico lord? Marie's rock?

Jeriko and jingkos form is nothing great so every chance they were just out of their depth, an outsider in the Ultima, iberico lord is rated 143 going up against 168 state man and 158 Irish point, Marie's rock was thrashed but has looked on the decline for a while and a lot of decent horses were thrashed in that race.

And I see de boinville saying to Chapman "same story different day" after jingko was outclassed in the gallaghers, was he expecting him to push Ballyburn close? Or even finish ahead of the likes of predators gold who was well beat himself.

If there is an actual tangible reason for pulling the likes of jonbon like a bad scope/blood work then I'd understand, and if that turns out to be the case then fair enough, but from what I gather so far he was pulled because a lot of the trainers average horses got stuffed the day before.

        Bonkers.

Yeah, I agree, and with the other 2 horses running career bests, it stinks of a lack of clear thinking, objectivity and a positive mindset.
It's unfortunately a reflection of the general vibes from the stable over the last few years.

It is important to be realistic but not to the extent of becoming defeatist and a self fulfilling prophecy.

Yeah when I look back over the last two days at they're results I just think to myself were you expecting a whole lot better from those horses? I don't see why they would have been. And then I hear other trainers saying they feel sorry for Henderson with what's happening to his horses, when imo there hasn't been a single big underperformance so far that would leave you scratching your head.

I think a lot of the blame with jonbon has to lie at McManus door though. He should know Henderson well enough by now to know he's prone to this type of sillyness. There was no actual reason for jonbon to be pulled, so McManus should have looked at the situation himself and realised Henderson's lost the plot and just tell Henderson he's happy to run him.

Might not be the owners decision in some cases. Why would the Donnellys leave Sir Gino in but take out Shishkin? Has Henderson told them which horses have worked poorly, or taken out horses stabled in a certain area? Very weird anyway.

Shishkin was reported to have scoped badly I believe.

                • Where is an easily accessible, accurate Trainers and Jockeys Cheltenham results table please.... found it .... why do I ask?

                  Leading Trainer Standings

                  Willie Mullins IRE 6 4 4

                  Henry de Bromhead IRE 2 3 1

                  Dan Skelton 2 - -

                  Kim Bailey 1 - -

                  Emmet Mullins IRE 1 - -

                  Joseph O’Brien IRE 1 - -

                  Gordon Elliott IRE - 3 3

I backed Henry at 10/1 without Willie before the festival ...and this morning (can be verified) I 'tipped' up Dan Skelton at 100/1 (and Emmet Mullins at 16/1 who is now 40/1)

Dan is in to 7/1, with the first 3 races tomorrow having the fav in each which is bananas!

Interestingly, Gordon Elliott is still 4/5 to win that market though
                  • 4/5 Gordon Elliott
                  • 11/8 Henry De Bromhead
                  • 7/1 Dan Skelton
                  • 33/1 Joseph
                  • 40/1 Emmet
                  • 100/1 Ben Pauling / Nicky / Paul / Gavin / Venetia

I will be gutted to lose to Gordon even though I'll be on pretty much every runner he has going forward

It was just from Irish Mirror so not something that's live unfortunately

I'd like to think RTV or ITV keep track but....

In the case of Jonbon, imo Hendo and JP between them decided to not take a chance and wait for Aintree when they would hope the obvious sickness in the yard is over.
I think the yard issues, along with the ground and the fact that it looked like they would probably not win anyway realistically, made them reach that decision.
without the yard issues they would have run as was the original intention.
                          Thats my thoughts fwiw!!
Also which I forgot to say and imo is important….
JP would have seen what happened with Jeriko and Iberico the day before.

Not sure Nico is in anyway to blame for all this.
Hes got his horses positioned ok in the races, running ok, and when asked they have found nothing and gone backwards.
In that scenario pulling them up is the only choice.
They are obviously not right, and you only find that out when pressure is put on them is how I understand it.

Must have been unlucky then that the 2 he didn't ride ran their best ever races.

Well do you actually think he would have pulled up Luccia?
