If they're going to keep allowing these types to drop, at least introduce a qualification limitation like the Foxhunters so anything with a G1 win in the preceeding season is excluded.

The 'problem' is that those races aren't in that four day period in March. When the prospect of a place in the Gold Cup is less attractive than winning the X-Country, you're in bother.

When does it stop? If Conflated takes the route, Gordon will have sent 4/6 of his highest rated horses he's ever trained down the X-Country route. That's insane.
Elliott is winning the x country with or without Conflated in it,I think we can all agree on that

The most important part is that it is a tried and successfully tested route to the Grand National

That is why he is considering it for Conflated and in my opinion will make the race more interesting/watchable

    • Go on Bob!! Travelled beautifully but when he was headed by Zanahiyr it seemed the writing was in the wall and he just doesn't like to race anymore. And then he knuckled down. Awesome!

        • Hopefully he progresses from today but Bob travelled very well. He's just tripless really over hurdles with there not being many open grade 1 two and a half mile races to aim him at (and he's not entered for the Hattons Grace) but maybe he will see out the 3m.

          • Great to see Bob winning today (didnt know which thread to put this in....)
However, he still looks like he has a physically problem, head comes up after hurdling, and he's leaning around, but finally seeing him put his head back down and win

Pleased for connections. HDB quick fix double there with Capt Guinness

            • Bigcitylights, the big Irish PTP talking horse, falls 4 out today. Asking price reportedly over €500k. Wonder if one of the big owners will buy him anyway.

Do we know if he was purchased before? A lot of the talking horses seem to be these days

Yea seen Ollie Harris on Twitter say the rumour was 700k.

JP picked up Quantum Boy the half brother to BMG the other day. Reportedly similar a range of 650-700k.

No idea. May have had a buyer ready if he won. As HesTheOne says, some on Twitter saying 700k was quoted for him. Crazy money.

Michael Looby said the Twitter rumours over astronomical price were garbage and I trust him over most.

Good to note it sounds bonkers - not that the 500k range is any better for the sport
