Every time this comes up, I get this image of Putin in his war room with his cronies finding out who the top tips are for the 3.25 at Sedgefield so he can roll it on to Constitution Hill for the Champion Hurdle. Just looking through my bets and opportunities for topping up some I've already done.
Got to Envoi Allen and spotted this stat ...
In his career, including his one PTP, he's ran 10 times over a mid trip. He's won 8 !! 4 of which were Grade 1's. The only times he's 'lost' is when falling at the first in the Marsh when odds on (painful experience) and when running below par at Punchestown.
What a record that is.
