Also gutted to get chinned when looking well clear in the race for Thursday’s Yankee captain position!

I am sure I will get sucked into something elsewhere

                        • Just liften this straight from the not606 forum .... but worthy of conversation..... and one for Odin to whittle down the runners?

"Not sure if people are aware of this stat (it's courtesy of 'The Weekender' from a few weeks back).

So far this century 170 horses have run at the Cheltenham Festival after having had their previous run over hurdles at Newbury. Of these 170 horses, who ran at the Cheltenham Festival, 169 were beaten!!!"

and bonus points for first person to get the horse that did...... without cheating.... or you can cheat, I don't think google will help!

Look on the bright side HF. A nice new OLED set delivered from Richer Sounds in time for Cheltenham

Crazily I have this stat wrong.

Since Cheltenham 2010, horses who's last run was a hurdle at Newbury: 6 wins from 213 runners, 35 places.

                                Henderson, Pipe, tizzard 1
                                Nicholls 3

It is 1-170 since Cheltenham 2012 though. Crazy how stats can be manipulated (or show emerging trends depending on your viewpoint)

In case anyone is wondering, no horse since 2010 had run at any of the following tracks last time out then won (0-281)
Ballinrobe, Carlisle, Cartmel, Chelmsford City, Cork, Curragh, Dundalk, Fakenham, Folkestone, Goodwood, Hereford, London Hexham, Kilbeggan, Killarney, Ludlow, Newcastle, Newmarket, Newton abbot, Perth, Roscommon, Sedgefield, southwell, Stratford, Tipperary, towcester, uttoxeter, Wolverhampton
