The DRF 2 day idea is proving again to be one of the best initiatives in modern racing and with the prize money on offer, it is still bizarre why it is for the most part boycotted by the UK trainers.
By contrast, listening to the likes of Mullins yesterday regarding Lossiemouth, it is still the aperitif to the main event. It still is very much all about Cheltenham, and certainly from this side of the Irish sea.

It could well develop into it but I'd guess that Irish racegoers still consider Punchestown the best festival in spite of the number of average races there ?
This weekend has been/will be great viewing but from a personal view it's just hell, all you want is your Cheltenham horses to survive injury and to impress, maybe over time we'll be developing DRF ante post books...

Think it has to be accepted that the timing of the DRF in the calendar just does not fit in well with the brits

The days you mention are very much second division compared to these 2 days.

Never going to happen.
And personally I want one Olympics not two in the space of a month, and would be surprised if the majority don’t think the same

Olympics this weekend and we'll let the handicappers have theirs after, as is traditional.

And a lot of what Cheltenham is about is the Irish v British thing and the more unknown the better imo.
Take that away and Cheltenham suffers big time.
Just would not be the same.
Anyway it won’t happen.
The only way the DRF gets the best of both is if it actually takes the place of Cheltenham.
Another thing that won’t happen

They should take turns to host the olympics.
The current hosts are undeserving of the priveledge at present.
